If the venue is on private property they property owners can forbid the carry of any firearm.

Nope. Texas Public Law forbids the government from denying carry except in courts, jails, and a few other specific places.

All gun shows I frequent require a firearm to be in a lock container.

Required to be in a locked container.

No kidding PRIVATE owners have the right to dictate the "rules", (family law), on their property.

Yep, what I said that applies to government property....then you say nope, then describe SOME of the government property.... :Rolleyes

So? No one is talking about "all gun shows you personally frequent". People are sharing their knowledge and "THEIR" experiences!

Perhaps where you have attended, but that does not apply to every gun show. Locked "container"? Nope, I have seen fire arms at gun shows, as a rifle slung over the arm by its strap.

    Let's see. You said:
    Which is WRONG.

    So I said
Now let me dumb that down a bit for you.

You say carry is "not allowed" in "government property/building" "so if the gun show is govt. property, not allowed to carry."

WRONG AGAIN. If the gun show is on "government property/building" then Texas Public Law FORBIDS disallowing (that means "to not allow") the lawful carry of firearms either concealed or openly.

So, unless you can show me a gun show being held in a court room, or in the county jail, (or a few other specific places like the protected area of an airport or the protected area of a police station) just admit you were wrong and get it over with.

Yep. Its crazy. I did go into a shop today that had replaced the "no loaded weapons" sign with a "lawful concealed carry welcome" sign. First I have seen.

The rules at gun shows are determined by the company running the show. That's what I have been told by a promoter anyway.

I am curious. Is this "no loaded weapons" thing common statewide? That is to ask, is it more common the nearer to Atlanta (profile had you from Georgia) the store is located?

Building owners typically have "their" rules or laws the Promoter or otherwise, "renter" of the facility, must agree to abide by what the owner is obligated to abide by.

If the promoter owns the property, then sure, his option.

Let me dumb this down for you....

The government abides by the LAW, and holds the public entering their owned or rented property and buildings to the LAW.

YOU even noted a FEW govt buildings, and then want to argue against it....

I don't need to SHOW you anything. No one was talking about your ignorant suggestion of a GUN SHOW in a court room. The conversation evolved about WHERE a person COULD or COULD NOT carry their sidearm.

Perhaps you should show your point by LISTING Government buildings YOU CAN waltz around packing your gun!

That is EXACTLY what you were talking about. You said:

    Which is WRONG.

You said carry is "not allowed" in "government property/building" "so if the gun show is govt. property, not allowed to carry."

You are wrong. You don't have a clue what you are talking about. It is obvious to the rest of the Texans on this forum that you are talking through your hat! LOL! ROFLOL!

All of them except courts, jails, protected area of an airport, and protected area of a police station. State Universities are presently excluded but that will change September 1st.

All government owned venues leased to promoters for gun shows cannot deny legal carry in the venue.

Yeah, I was wondering if those credentials with addresses were going to be posted very long. Not very smart putting them in public view.
