I would have never known about Huckabee's Arkansas record if not for Ken H. He appears totally different on national TV, and does not mention those issues. They would probably come out in the general election.

This is a claim, not proof. And sincxe you are now Kenny's official representative tell Ken it is easy to throw out cliams and make assertions but to give evidence of his claim he needs to provide the platform for marxists and the platform for Hillary and show the difference. I can and have on several occasions how about you.

Believe it or not, there are degrees of political classifications. Not everyone who disagrees with your keen insight into political affairs and international relations is a Communist. (You must have already been old in the 50s). There is the term liberal, socialist, and communist, each in increasing order of state involvement in an individual's life.

Then, you can go past liberal the other way, go to moderate, conservative, right wing, and facist. What is so ironic is some of the present and candidates running you support are quite close to Hillary on the political scale.

Thanks, I did watch them all. It seems a lot of the instances he blamed on an overwhelmingly Democratic legislature and power base. No doubt Arkansas politics is as dirty as Kentucky. He does come across as very sure of himself and positive.

All I was saying is that you cannot discount the opinion of someone who lives in the same state and lived through the administration. Of all the Republicans running, he is probably one of the best qualified. No doubt he stands head and shoulders above Romney and Giuliani.

Yeah you got it right. He performed well as governor that's why his political foes were desperate to discredit him in anyway they could do as possible. Always remember, he won re-election and have an approval exit rating of more than 50% among his constituents. Majority of arkansans has a good opininon about him. But of course some are dissatisfied since he can not please everybody.

How did he get him released? Was he pardoned? Did Huck sign into law some kind of soft crime bill that freed the man? I am not familiar with the case, can you give the details?

Not only is Huckabee soft on crime but his only foreign policy experience was once when he ate breakfast at an International House of Pancakes (IHOP).

    Here is what I found out on this Wayne Dumond issue;

If this is true, and I believe that it is easily public record to the facts of the case, then why is it brought up as something Huck has done?

Either people are being decietful or they are ignorant to the facts and just repeating something they heard a smear compaign saying. Which is it?

    WOW!

    That was alot of reading.

In all honesty it all looks like a "he said, she said" story. The most I gathered from the story was that #1 officially Huck let the parole board make the decision. #2 Huck was mistaken if he personally thought the man was ok for society. #3 As much as one would like to blame Huck for these deaths it just isn't in the facts.

They made the story out as if Huck was possessed to get this man freed. The way I read it Huck presented himself to those fighting for the man's pardon as concerned for their personal feelings, something any good governer would do, but ultimately let it in the hands of those already familiar with the case.

I don't care one way or the other. I am just now looking into all the candidates who have not already been eliminated by God's word. Thanks for the article, but it looked very anti-Huck sided to me. After hearing both sides of the story I don't find Huck guilty of any moral crime. It was a shame that this man was released and murdered. These mistakes happen because we live in a system run by humans. But I don't see any justification to hang it on Huck.

Can you give me the policies Huckabee put in place that shows him soft on crime? Remember, I am not arguing for Huck, I really want to know his record.

    God Bless!

Someone else will have to do it for you, steaver. I have been accused lately of being too negative in this forum - and rightly so. I've posted my opinion of my former governor. I'll let what I have already posted in various threads in this forum stand for my position concerning my former governor.

You might try using Google to search for various issues - just type "Mike Huckabee taxes" or "Mike Huckabee illegal immigration", etc.

    Thanks Ken!

I know I am not here much lately but from what I read I don't see you as "too" negative. To hear some of these guys on here you would think the world is coming to it's end because Bush's eight years. As far as I can tell, I have been blessed the past eight years as well as the eight years under Clinton. Some get way too caught up in this political thing. God will take care of His children.

I'll search things out on Huck. Not sure yet, but he looking pretty good so far. I don't find the facts of the Wayne Dumond case any reason to look down my nose at Huckabee. Could he have stopped the release? I don't know, maybe, but it was the right thing to just let those who had begun the process just finish it out since they knew all the details better. This is why we have a "system" and do not give absolute power to any one person. I think blaming Huck on this one is just personal animosity.

    God Bless! :wavey:

I think your posts are honest. There is no greater insight to a record of a governor than someone who lived through it. It could be someone else from Arkansas thinks different, but the fact is, living in Kentucky, I could never get the perspective you have by living through it. You seem to be very involved in the issues, and basically conservative, without the blind Republican loyalty.

It is obvious there are those who think they are conservative that, in fact, are not. They are Republican apologists. No one can admire this administration and be a conservative.

Having said all of that, Huckabee is still better than any Democrat, including Romney or Giuliani.

Maybe I don't know the definition of a "conservative? Is there one or does everyone make up thier own?

What is a conservative and what has this administration done that goes against conservatism?

One point the political system has ignored, or that has been made benign, is that a woman is the serious contender for POTUS. And I think that's a mistake.

    1. Record deficits with a Republican Congress, greater than all predecessors combined.
    2. Failure to push and pass Social Security reform with a Republican Congress
    3. Failure to push and pass Medicare Reform with a Republican Congress
    4. No policy or leadership of controlling our borders
    5. Willing to compromise/agree with illegal immigraton amnesty
    6. Not even considering the merits of the Iraq war, failure to provide the leadership necessary to win the war and bring it to a swift and decisive conclusion.
    7. Vetoing bills based on being a Republican and not a conservative. He signed every mass spending bill the Republican Congress passed, and vetos the same bills of the Democratic Congress for partisan purposes.
    7. National sovreignty taking second place to trade policy and treaties
    8. The systematic dismantling of the middle class industrial factory wage type jobs
    9. Presiding over an atmosphere and policy that makes the United States the laughing stock of the international community, to the point of utter contempt.
    10. Only bringing out the abortion and gay rights issues at election time.
    11. Failure to overturn Roe v Wade with a Republican Congress and a conservative Supreme Court.
    12. Placing incompetent people in postions of leadership, his friends, especially at the Cabinet level, and especially the ones that affect American's Constitutional rights.
    13. The disgraceful antics at the VA under this administration, whether leadership of the department or cutting fund.
    14. The total collapse of the FAA to a point of being non functional.
    15. etc
    16' etc
    17. etc

This list can be any length you wish.

Maybe the worst of all relates to the first point, and that would be, not only creating a massive national debt, but selling the debt to a country like Communist China. One can only imagine the national security and economic damage this could lead to, in addition to again, compromising national soverignty. Is there a pattern here?
