Are you referring to me? If so, I don't have problems with it. It must be interpreted in its historical and local context. Read the article I linked to on "headship".

What I do have problems with are Pharisaical interpretations of it.

At the risk of trying to have a meaningful discussion with you, could you explain why you believe the Missouri Synod Lutherans are apostate?

That actually broke my heart. :( I've not spoken to anyone in our old church. I wonder what they are going to do. They have SUCH a great location - but SUCH a bad denomination.

OK then. Up here they have become extremely liberal ....well whatever is left of them. When I walked in & spoke to the pastor of the local church in my community about starting a bible study (note they didnt have one) he poo pooed the idea. Then he asked me who I thought was a good modern Theologian & so I answered that I admired Al Mohler. He then responded with ...."well Im the Anti Al Mohler...........you get the picture. Right.

Maybe he just meant he wasn't a Calvinist.

Anyway, I was thinking they were still staunchly conservative. Amazing that a pastor would be against a Bible study.

If they are not studying the sourcebook of their faith, what are they studying?

WOW! I have seen that and it was interesting but no way should it be used by a Christain church as a study guide.

I serious doubt he knew who Mohler is. I just don't understand why people like this enter the ministry or remain in the ministry of any church. Some time back I read an article about the decline of the Anglican Church in merry ole England. Some priests who were interviewed are atheists. Why remain? Why not use their degree to teach at a university and retain some integrity?

I see the Baptist view of ecclesiology as the only accurate one; the others are all less accurate in varying degrees. And what's so bad about planting NT Baptist churches where there aren't any? That's very Baptist, you know, and actually the only proper answer to the OP!

They might be studying the Bible, but do they take it as being the inerrant/infallible revelation of God?

And take the conservative approach to understand its teachings?
