Two of them I attended, and the other five were friends of mine at my home church that left for the same reason.

I've attended (more often than once) six churches that hold to strong standards, without tainting doctrine or being legalistic, making their beliefs doctrine. What is it that they do to make this happen?

Then good for you. If this is true, then the IFB churches you have attended have not been infected with the toxin of legalism. Actually, I am very glad to hear that.
