Ok, here is what you asked:

Yes a person can commit adultery and still be saved.
Yes a person can commit a homosexual act and still be saved.
Where is that in the Bible?

"For by Grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves,
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    John 6:37
    (37) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

    John 5:24
    (24) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

(Notice the present tense of "hath".. we don't wait to be full of grace through our acts of attrition before we have everlasting life.. we have it now)
    And notice this: it says... and shall not come into condemnation;
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Once a person is saved, they are eternally saved.. NOTHING shall separate a true believer.. but that is the kicker...

If a person can enjoy sin over and over and over without chastisement.. then that person was never saved.

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

If we didn't sin.. then why would God chastise us?

We can sin.. but we have the Holy Spirit in us that will help us to stay away from temptations....

OK.. since I answered.. explain why the Doauy R's (Catholic) has "full of grace".. Was Mary full of grace?

And because God is the ONLY One who can forgive sins or tell us that they are forgiven. NO earthly person can do that. God said in Romans 3:23 that ALL have sinned. That includes Mary, priests, the pope, and the rest of us.

Doing good works or keeping God's commandmenrts will not save anyone. We do not keep His commandments to BE saved; we keep them because we ARE saved.

We are saved by God's grace through faith and NOT by works, Ephesians 2:8,9. That includes keeping God's commandments for the purpose of finding favor with God. It cannot be done since we are told in God's word that "All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags."

If we do good works or keep God's commandments for the purpose of getting to heaven, we will remain eternally lost. NOTHING we do on our own is good enough. It HAS to be done selflessly for God's glory alone.

He will not recognize what we do unless (1) We are born again as Jesus said we must be. (2) The works we do are done for God's glory and not our own or for the purpose of gaining forgiveness and salvation--which does NOT work.

Good job on the whole post.. but I wanted to comment on this part...

If we depend on what we do or don't do to get to Heaven, our trust (Faith) is misplaced...

ONly those who trust Christ COMPLETELY will go to Heaven.
Those that believe they must do or don't do something in order to go to Heaven will go to Hell. And not pass go.. or purgatory!..

Trust in the FINISHED work of Calvary is the ONLY way to be saved..

"It is finished" means it was finished.. nothing for us to add!

The last time my pastor preached on homosexuality he quoted from 1 Cor.6:9-11 "Do you not know that the unrighteousness will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals...will inherit the kingdom of God"

How did those in Corinth have this sin removed? "But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of God"

For you to believe that those committing sins of adultery and homosexuality could return to that lifesyle and STILL be saved without confessing and repentance, is not biblical.

2 Peter 2:20 “ For if they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, then, after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment deliver unto them. It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire”

Hebrews 10"26 " For if we sin delibertely after receiving the truth there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries…how much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified”

Agree. We are saved by grace alone and not by works alone. This doesn't mean that we can ignore the commandments. Saving faith is shown by our works. If you are committing adultery and claim to be saved, then you have been deceived. Your adultery shows that you do not have saving faith.

Yes, God will remain faithful and will not cast us out. But we can cast ourselves out because of free will (please tell me you believe in free will)
Of course! But if you truly believe in Him then your works will show that. If you commit adultery then you do not love Him

1 John 3:19–24]“ Now this is how we shall know that we belong to the truth and reassure our hearts before him in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God and receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And his commandment is this: we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another just as he commanded us. Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them, and the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit that he gave us. “

Sorry, that is not what it says. It says that nothing external can separate us from God, no angel, no power, but we can separate ourselves from God when we return to our vomit. (If you do not believe in free will then you are hopeless.)
Finally we agree. So how can you say that you can molest a small child and be saved?? You can commit adultery and be saved? That proves you do not have saving faith.
We do sin. Anyone who says we don't is a liar. But we must confess that sin and repent or we will not be saved.
But we do give in to sin because of our sinful nature. Do you agree that we must confess our sins and repent? This is not an option.
Wasn't Jesus full of grace? Didn't Mary carry Jesus for nine months?

If you are a Baptist, and I will give you the benefit of doubt, you have the most convoluted view of salvation I've ever heard.

Yes we are saved by grace. We cannot save ourselves. But if we have saving faith we will have works.
Not true. Show me where our righteousness are filthy rags. I get sick of hearing this. Isaiah is speaking about apostate Jerusalem in Isaiah 64:6. We should not apply this to ourselves Look at verse 5 " Thou meetest him that joyfull works righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways"
Agree. An atheist that keeps the commandments will not see God.

Amen. However I come across many who say we do not need to confess and repent when we sin. And that means everytime we sin.

It is a biblical view of salvation from my Baptist pastor. Your view must be a more 'modern' view of salvation.

You believe you must "work" to keep your salvation, and I have a more "modern" view?

You apparently, believe you can lose your salvation. I've never been in a Baptist church in my 58 years that believed that. Does your pastor teach that?

If we are a child of God and we do not confess our sins, we still will be saved but our relationship with God will not be what it could be. Just as if I sin against my husband, he still will always be my husband but our relationship will be strained. By confession and repentance, we can be restored to a full right relationship with God but I never lost my salvation.

So you are in disagreement with your church's statement of beliefs that a person who is saved can never lose their salvation.

Then you are saying that we can live a sinless life. Is that what you believe?

If you think, like TinyTim, that you can commit adultery and you still have saving faith, then you are lost. You never had faith to begin with. You have deceived yourself. If adultery is the "fruit" of your "faith" then you had a dead faith and you were never saved in the first place.

There is a lot about baptist you seem ignorant about, so don't be so quick to judge others. Not far from where I live is "Free Will" baptist church. I don't agree with them, but they believe a person can lose their salvation.

No, but if you live a sinful life then you were never saved to begin with. Where are you guys getting your theology? Are all of you Reformed Baptists?

I am stunned to read that all of you believe that adultery and child molestation is not an indication that you were never saved to begin with.
Your theology seems to be based on George Sodini's theology
    God help us.

    http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/valleynewsdispatch/s_637429.html

"George Sodini rests in heaven now because he professed a faith in Jesus years before his shooting rampage, a Tetelestai Christian Church leader said
Shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sodini walked into the LA Fitness Center in Great Southern Shopping Center in Collier and opened fire in an aerobics room filled with women. In addition to killing three, he wounded nine others before killing himself.
Sodini wrote in his online diary that the pastor at Tetelestai convinced him it was possible to commit mass murder and still be welcomed into heaven. In his blog, Sodini alleged that the Rev. Alan "Rick" Knapp taught Tetelestai members that committing such a crime could be forgiven.

I think that a saved person can stumble and fall. They will not want to do it, they will not willingly look for it but it happens.

Do you never look on a woman and thing one lustful thought? I highly doubt that - and if you have ever had even ONE lustful thought, you committed adultery and, in your understanding, you will be going to hell. Is that right?

Wait - You're saying that you do not live a sinless life but if someone lives a sinful life, they were never saved to begin with? So which is it? Are you sinless or sinful? You said you're not sinless so then you're sinful.

Adultery and molestation are both grave sins, absolutely. I do not believe that a believer will seek to continue in this sort of lifestyle if they did this before but we are in a fallen world and still subject to the affect of our past sins. Our desire to sin does not just disappear the second we are saved - it is a process. However, one who sins and is a believer is convicted of that sin and does not want to continue in that sin. THAT is a difference.

Yeah, good try but that doesn't work.

Brother, you are misstating what others have said.

Most of those that post here make a distinction between a one-time sinful act, and living a habitual life of sin. The former is possible for a Christian, the latter is not.

You asked if a person was saved if they committed a one-time sinful act. Tim answered yes, of course, no one can live a sinless life. When we repent and ask our Father for forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive us our sins.

You responded by accusing Tim, and others, of believing Christians can live a habitual life of sin without asking for forgiveness. They have not said any such thing.
    Unfortunately, they are not.

I am interested in knowing how you can claim these Christians have said things that they most certainly have not said, and yet you don't seem to have any remorse for making false accustions against them.

That violates one of those commandments you are so diligently keeping.
That is an accusation with no basis in truth. Again, making false accusations violates the commandment of God.

    peace to you:praying:
