We just got our power back on this afternoon. I didn't realize how dependent we are on electricity.

I am shocked that you were without power for so long, Terry.

You should have come out to my house.

We lost power for about 1/10th of a second when the storm first started and the lights flickered.

We did lose cable for several hours on Sunday though.

That was all we had out here.

    Glad you're okay.

Thank you for these responses. We did not have any physical damage to our property, but we did not have electricity until Wednesday night. Because the temperature was so hot, we've stayed in motels for the past two days.

Whew! I cannot imagine the smell!!! Then again, when those students got here from NO after Katrina, I immediately recognized the smell - hurricane water in the heat just has a peculiar smell to it.

Then again, so do we Texans when we stay out in the sun too long ...

I am glad you have AC back.
