I asked in another thread if the people here are hostile to KJV readers.

I have decided that the people I was concerned about are not hostile to KJV readers, they are just hostile in general.

I think they spend too much time reading news lines, and many behave like baboons they claim not to come from and repeatedly prove that they do........Wait, no baboon can be that dumb!

    Cheers,

    Jim

I do not see where anyone here is hostile to KJV readers- I am one. Would to God that MORE people read their Bibles!

There IS, however a great deal of "hostility" (I prefer "righteous anger") directed towards false teachings of ANY kind- including KJVOism.

What I see is a couple of posters telling everyone else that what they read as God's Word - the very Bibles that they use to study, grow, teach and preach from - are not God's Word. That they are inaccurate. That they are in error.

So they defend their Bibles. And they are accused of being hostile? I don't see that as the truth. Someone comes into your home and attacks you and YOU are being hostile? Nah - we all know the truth of what happens.

I've been at this for many years, & it seems the tomato-throwing started on the KJVO side, from dudes such as Ruckman. They coulda done a lot more for their cause if they'd just tried to prove the Freedom Readers wrong minus the ad-hominem. As far as Freedom Reader retaliation goes, one should expect to get bitten if he kix enough dogs enough times.

Could you please show when the last time Peter S. Ruckman posted on the BB?

Would it be concluded you're carrying a grudge? KJVO's threw tomatoes, what are you throwing back? Rocks?

Ah the hostility from days passed.:tongue3:

Folks are free to read whatever version of the Bible they so desire.

So if you read the KJV, God bless.

I read the TNIV as my primary text.

You're absolutely right, TCGreek - everyone IS free to read whatever Bible translation they desire. Isn't it great that God has graciously supplied us the various translations? Your preference is the TNIV, mine is the NKJV, others prefer one of the KJVs, others prfer various other translations for other reasons. What's sad is when certain people become their own final authority and proclaim that all translations beside the one they read are not the word of God. That's when the preference issue becomes a problem.

Folks are free to read anything they like, that is liberty to do as one wishes.

Since when is God a god of variants? Didn't he mean exactly what he said the first time?

One has a dim view of the Lord when it comes to attemtping to establish variants which conflict with one another concerning God's word.

It is actually an outright attack against the Lord.

And thus, we all should be reading Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic.

Oh, I'd say since roughly about the time of the Tower of Babel.

But God still manages to get his message across in spite of the weaknesses of translators, language, and people who try to force Him into a box.

Um, there are many various MSS which could be inserted.
