    In light of the recent threads on which eschatological calendar is correct it would do us all good to realize that no matter which calendar you are believing in...every saint who has gone before us left in their final exodus from this corrupt body at the appointed time...you know...these guys;

    13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

    14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

    15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

    Those who sleep in Jesus will be raptured at that time, but the point is....are we serving our Lord with all our strength...here and now? Does your end time view lead you to pursue holiness without which no man shall see the Lord?

    I doubt Jesus would come back on Pacific Time. It'll either be Eastern or Central Time, and I strongly suspect Eastern as that's South Carolina time.

    10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

    11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

    13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

    14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

    15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

    Christian eschatology is a major branch of study within Christian theology dealing with the "last things." Eschatology, from two Greek words meaning "last" (ἔσχατος) and "study" (-λογία), is the study of 'end things', whether the end of an individual life, the end of the age, the end of the world and the nature of the Kingdom of God. Broadly speaking, Christian eschatology is the study concerned with the ultimate destiny of the individual soul and the entire created order, based primarily upon biblical texts within the Old and New Testament.

    Christian eschatology looks to study and discuss matters such as death and the afterlife, Heaven and Hell, the Second Coming of Jesus, the resurrection of the dead, the Rapture, the Tribulation, Millennialism, the end of the world, the Last Judgment, and the New Heaven and New Earth in the world to come. Eschatological passages are found in many places in the Bible, both in the Old and the New Testaments. There are also many extrabiblical examples of eschatological prophecies, as well as church traditions.

    Why should our end time views affect this? We are saved to serve.

    BUT
    Does our end time view distract us from service of Christ - serving the nation of Israel instead? Huge amounts of Christian money have been directed to Israel, at the expense of Christians in the Middle East.

    I am more concerned with our departure than His Coming....I think our departure will happen first.

    This reminds me of a story I heard that I'm sure you all would enjoy... Billy Graham had stopped in a little town to give a sermon... He also had a letter to mail while he was there and was looking for the towns post office... He saw a young man and motioned to him and told him who he was and what he was doing in town and could he direct him to the post office... Which the young man did!

    Evening came and the crowd had gathered at the church to hear Billy Graham deliver the message... The topic was "How To Get To Heaven"... The young man happened to go by the church on his way home and saw all the people gathered around waiting to go into the church... He also saw the church sign Rev Billy Graham's message this evening will be "How To Get To Heaven"... All are invited!... Turning to the mingling assembled crowd he hollered... I WOULDN'T LISTEN TO A WORD HE HAS TO SAY!... HE CAN'T EVEN FIND THE TOWN'S POST OFFICE!... Brother Glen:Laugh

    Certainly isn't West Virginia time!

    Because Heaven isn't like horseshoes.

    "Almost heaven, West Virginia,..."

    Now Texas, that is about right.

    "Everything is bigger in Texas,..."

    And should you need a map to verify it, here is one that will probably do.
