We all know a Lesbian was one of those who offered suggestions on English grammar but was NOT a translator of the NIV. Is this what the discussion is about?

Actually, Dr.B, it is yet another KJVO warchant.

I guess they hold to the addage, "One bad apple somewhere in the orchard, and all of it must be worm-ridden."

    In Christ,

Yes. However, the KJVO's fail to mention that there were 14 such style consultants. And, no one claims any of the other 13 were translators. Hint: none of them were translators.

I fail to see the relevance of Mollenkott's involvement, and no one has ever even attempted to demonstrate how specifically her influence had a negative effect on the text.

I wonder if anyone at all remotely involved in the production of the KJV was a sinner in some way? Probably not, that was during the pinnacle of the English language or something like that (even though they couldn't spell worth beans). ;)

It is because on bad apple spoils the bunch. And since the KJV had one translator who was a drunk, the KJV must be soft on drunkeness. He must be the reason why Paul tells Timothy to drink some wine [/sarcasm] ;)

Isn't that much like saying because there is one adulterer in the church therefore all Christians are adulterers.

What was King James' sexual preference? Wasn't he a promiscuous homsexual?

Maybe. There are some pretty racy letters. But it's all irrelevant anyway, since he was only a style consultant.

It is a case of classic guilt by association. If you can cast doubt on one person involved (no matter how small a part), then you can discredit the whole work. Of course, they forget that we can do the same thing with some of the less than perfect KJV translators.

Unless you know a trick for getting coffee out of a keyboard, you owe me a new one.

    *both

Yes, it was a typo, but, somehow, it seemed to fit.
