In the Nashville situation, the Metro government was strongarmed by CAIR and the other National Muslim PAC who strongarmed Dell.

Is Nashville in Maine? I might be confused, but the last I heard, Nashville was in Tennessee.

I rather think these Somalians emigrated to avoid war and starvation.

The tactics are the same whether in Nashville or Maine.

Also, rapes and other crimes committed by the Muslim Somalians are for the most part, not even reported in the newspapers in Maine lest they be branded as bigots. Remember the person who got fired from the article I posted on page 1?

These Somalians were emigrated to the US because of something the US signed with the UN. I'm researching the story about 8000 Somalians being held in custody and the court battle over it. If 8000 are in jail, it makes me wonder how many are here in the US either legally or illegally. When I find out more, I will post it.

Why do you emphasize alleged crimes committed by Muslims and not those committed by Christians, LE?

    LE,

    1. Do you have any evidence that these Muslims have broken any laws in the United States?

    2. Do you have any evidence that these Muslims are planning on killing the infidel?

    3. Is there a reason you seem to be trying to find something wrong with these people who are assimilating into American society and enjoying the freedoms of democracy?

    LE,

Are the Somalis in Maine, who are part of this discussion, part of the 8000 who are to be deported? Do you have any evidence that they have broken the law? If not, then I am not interested in anything that these meaningless articles have to say as they have nothing to do with the topic.

They are enjoying freedom of speech. They are enjoying freedom of religion. They are enjoying the benefits of welfare. What could be more American than that? :D

Was there any "evidence" on 09/10 that 19 hijackers were going to kill the infidel?

Joseph, do you, as an American citizen taxpayer have a problem with:

    1. The US importing people into this country in agreement with the UN that other countries refuse to take? Countries they were originally relocated from by Muslims?

    2. The imported group of people being handed out $10,000 per family, free medical care, free housing, and other free community services for up to 5 or more years?

    3. Because of the cost of providing housing, health care, education, and other free community services to these people, your taxes increase?

    4. Because of the "customs" of the imported people and their inability to speak English, interpreters must be hired for all health care and educational facilities in the region, as well as redesigning of hospital gowns when they are patients, increasing the cost of health care and ancilliary services in your town, which is passed on to you as a consumer?

    5. Increased costs passed on to consumers because employers must bow to political pressure from groups they are required by Federal law to hire for employee benefits mandated by political groups putting pressure on local government and that employer?

    6. Freedom of the press being stiffled/silenced because certain groups target the press, calling them bigots and prejudiced if anything negative is reported, including crimes, involving a member of said group? Especially involving local matters and your community you have lived in your whole life?

    7. As a homeowner, your property value possibly decreasing due to changing neighborhood demographics?

    8. As a renter, not being able to find affordable housing because certain groups getting rent subsidies from government have driven up cost of renting. Supply & demand.

I'm inclined to believe that, from the nature of your posts, if it were anyone but Muslims, you might have some objections, but perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps you are a dyed-in-the-wool liberal.

I don't know whether they are or not. The fact remains, they are from a Muslim country which killed our soldiers when our soldiers were there doing a UN relief mission and there is no proof anywhere that these Muslim Somalis have been screened for links to al Qaeda and bin Laden who has groups in Somalia and was there for a time, himself.

Off topic and irrelevant. We are talking about a group of Somalians in Maine, who have, to my knowledge, committed no crime and are assimilating into American Society rather well.

Joseph, do you, as an American citizen taxpayer have a problem with:

    1. The US importing people into this country in agreement with the UN that other countries refuse to take? Countries they were originally relocated from by Muslims?
I have no problem with this. Is there a reason I should?

    2. The imported group of people being handed out $10,000 per family, free medical care, free housing, and other free community services for up to 5 or more years?
Are we talking about the Somalians in Maine? Is there a stated reason why they recieved this aide? Is it because they were in a desperate situation and needed help? If so, then no, I don't have a problem with this. We do this all the time to help others out who are in desperate situations, including Israel.

    3. Because of the cost of providing housing, health care, education, and other free community services to these people, your taxes increase?
My taxes are going to increase anyway, whether they are Muslim or otherwise. The point is that you seem to be focusing on the fact that they are Muslims and trying to find something sinister about them because of that very fact.

    4. Because of the "customs" of the imported people and their inability to speak English, interpreters must be hired for all health care and educational facilities in the region, as well as redesigning of hospital gowns when they are patients, increasing the cost of health care and ancilliary services in your town, which is passed on to you as a consumer?
Do you have evidence that this is true of these Muslims in Maine?

    5. Increased costs passed on to consumers because employers must bow to political pressure from groups they are required by Federal law to hire for employee benefits mandated by political groups putting pressure on local government and that employer?
That sentence was pretty incoherent...but I will take a stab at it. Are you talking about affirmative action? If so, surely you don't think that this idea began with the Somolians in Maine, do you?

    6. Freedom of the press being stiffled/silenced because certain groups target the press, calling them bigots and prejudiced if anything negative is reported, including crimes, involving a member of said group? Especially involving local matters and your community you have lived in your whole life?
HMMMMMMMMM....kinda reminds me of many Christian groups who get offended by something in the media, threaten a boycott, and pressure them to change the way they do their programming. Of course, when a Muslim group does it, freedom of the press is being stiffled. Looks to me like the Muslims truly are assimilating into American society. Your main beef with them seems to be the fact that they are Muslims.

    7. As a homeowner, your property value possibly decreasing due to changing neighborhood demographics?
HMMMMMMM...I think I have heard that argument before when I talk to folks who moved to white flight suburbs. Then again, I don't really look at the demographic of race and religion when I am trying to determine the value of a piece of property. I generally try to look and see what kind of people they are, if they are party animals, if they mow their lawn, etc...but, that is just me and my naieve way of thinking I guess.

    8. As a renter, not being able to find affordable housing because certain groups getting rent subsidies from government have driven up cost of renting. Supply & demand.
And certainly the Muslims are not the first and only folks to do that. More proof that they are assimilating into American society quite well.

I'm inclined to believe that, from the nature of your posts, if it were anyone but Muslims, you might have some objections, but perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps you are a dyed-in-the-wool liberal.
You would be wrong in your assumption, as is normal for you. I think what bothers me about your post is how you seem to focus exclusively on one group of people because of their religion and ancestry to object to them doing what other Americans have been doing for decades (welfare) and centuries (freedom of speech and religion). Since you call me a dyed in the wool liberal, I can only assume that you are an Archie Bunker Racist. Fair is fair. If you don't want to be called names, don't do it yourself.

    Here's the hospital gown story:

    http://tinyurl.com/ajsdt

    Starting at the 5th paragraph.

Joseph, if assimilation in America means living on the dole, not speaking English, bringing all the customs from the former country along and expecting the host community/country to meet those demands and customs, then we have two different interpretations of what the word "assimilation" means.

Living on the dole is not part of any conservative platform I've ever heard of.

The hospital gown thing is unfortunate, but most certainly not illegal, just as circumcision for Jewish kids, is not illegal. Both practices are considered barbaric by certain segments of our society.

Then why do you not constantly post against other groups that are coming into this country and not assimilating, LE?

Also, there are lots of citizens of this country living on the dole? Why do you not bash them like you constantly do Muslims, LE?

Circumcision is considered barbaric by some? I am not Jewish but I was circumcised.
