As you being the only person I have ever seen in my life as either a Presbyterian or Baptist that was the prime mover of a spontaneous dance in a church service, your answer would be much more accurate than anything I could imagine. LOL

Ann, I just watched it. It made me fall to my knees and cry holy...tamales. LOL Cute! It's sweet that they get along like that and play together despite the age difference. Mine are too close in age for most people to even know there IS a difference!

I have to say that we are really blessed and that even with the age range, they love being together. Robby and Nicole are two peas in a pod even with 8 years between them. LOL

I remember the incident. A young couple moved into the aisle and began a slow dance with each other. Mouths dropped. Finally, someone (I don't remember who) went to them and told them to stop.

It definitely was NOT the funky chicken.

That is profane. Not surprised I loved 4 blocks from them for seven years and attended his church for four.

Didn't do anything for me but I did not see anything profane either. Done in any way related to worship is a totally different matter. Then I would say it is profane!

Profane?? Really?? The beam in your eye must be affecting the grey matter behind it.

Yet another area for divisions and troubles in the church!

Much like "worship music styles", interpretive dance (or praise dance as I have heard it called) walks a VERY fine line. And just like the music wars - one must always be concerned about the "why"... Is it being done to bolster someone's ego or to "show off" those expensive dance lessons? Or is the intent totally to give God glory?

I too have seen such dance in a church service (not here where I pastor). It mostly has made me uncomfortable, though I'm not sure how much of that is the "different" part of it, and how much is actual Holy Spirit-induced discernment.

I believe it is just another attempt to make love to the world!
