I'm furious, but not surprised. American blood and treasure mean nothing to these people; after all, we're the infidels. This is absolutely disgusting and from the Bush remarks, it looks like he doesn't care either. This was brought to my attention by watching C-Span today and some of the (Democratic) Senators were outraged. I agree.

I say, Bring our troops home NOW! These ingrates can sort out their own bloody mess with their own blood and treasure. Our troops don't deserve this slap in the face and neither do the American taxpayers.

This is what happens when you attempt to force your will on someone who doesn't want it. This war has been a disaster for the beginning. We should not have invaded and should leave immediately.

Im just curious! what do you two think will happen if we were to immediately pull out? How would that effect Iraq? How would that effect the middle east? And how would that effect us in the U.S.?

I am not LE or Terry, but I'll take a crack at this:

    1. What will happen if we immediately pull out?
Americans would quit bringing home their sons and daughters in body bags under the cover of a media blackout. Iraq would have to solve their own problems.

If they can put up this much fight, they should have overthrown Saddam themselves. They obviously hate us worse than they hate him.

    2. How would that affect Iraq?
Don't really much care, but they would have to solve their own sectarian problems.

    3. How would that affect the Middle East?
Hard to say. Probably civil war in Iraq, which they already have. Greater Middle East, could go one of several ways.

    4. How would that affect us in the US?
We would quit spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a black hole, our kids would quit dying for Bush's immoral war, and we could maybe start working on regaining the respect of the rest of the world. The money spent in Iraq would have gone a long way toward providing healthcare for every child and elderly person in the US. We could also deploy the military and National Guard troops to secure the US borders, rather than having them be targets for IEDs in Iraq. Or even go to Afghanistan and finish the job there, along with capturing OBL.

    Amen, amen, MP! :applause:

Bush has said the new Iraqi government is our new ally. With friends like this, who needs enemies.

That is what the liberals real worry is. Not the deaths of our soldiers but money being taken away from their communist eganda. Just as I figured.

RevM, obviously you only selectively read what I wrote. This immoral war has a cost in lives and money. Of course lives are more precious than money, but it is also bankrupting this once great nation.

NOTHING in Iraq was worth one American life. I almost cry every week watching the names, ages and hometowns of the soldiers killed at the end of "this Week with George Stephanopolis"

We should all be saddend to tears over the deaths of our soldiers. MP the problem is that the concern showed by liberals seems to be disingenuine because so many people die every day for unjust reasons.

The biggest unjust death which occurs by the thousands daily all over this country is the deaths of unborn children. They do not get to even volunteer for that abortion. So the lack of concern in this most unjust murder makes the complaints of our soldiers seem suspect at best.

I would not expect a "reverend" to lie as frequently as you do, or do you call it a gift of prophecy to know what a person's "real worry is?"

Well, since this thread is not about abortion, I only have one comment: Conservatives (Republicans) control two branches of our government - the Executive and Legislative and have done so for several years. Yet, abortion continues as much as ever and the unborn babies being ripped from the wombs of their mothers aren't even given pain medication. That being said, comparing the blood of murdered unborn to the blood of our American soldiers on foreign soil and the disdain of that blood being spilled daily for Iraqi citizens by the Iraqi government is a red herring in this debate.

No red herring! I do not support the lack of action on this issue. And while I am conservative I do not care for so many of the current actions of Congress, the Senate, or Our President. And I am saddend by the lack of action in so many areas. The comparison is legitimate.

    Furthermore....

our troops have bled and died and had their arms and legs blown off to set up an Islamic State. It is not truly a democracy as Americans were led to believe was going to be set up. Since when do Americans bleed, die, get maimed, and give of our tax dollars to set up an Islamic State? Yet, that is what happened under our Leader and his cronies.

What voice do Iraqi Christians have in Iraq? Since it is supposed to be a "democracy" - one would think that would include ALL groups. However, here is an article from just a few days ago:

And Republican appointees have made up a majority of the U.S. Supreme Court for way longer than that.
