No, because I appeal to the same scriptures. The Holy Spirit is sovereign, and operates as He wills. Among his operations are illumination of the mind, conviction of the heart, and regeneration (the New Birth). It is the Spirit who applies the gospel to our hearts and minds and draws us to repentance and faith. And the Spirit gives us repentance and saving faith. This, in my view, is real salvation by grace.

Oh really, regardless if one is a saved Primitive Baptist or a Freewill Baptist, faith came by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The infant, the mentally challanged, those to young to understand the Gospel are addressed in Romans 7:8-10. We have invented the phrase "age of accountability" which is a good enough term to understand the concept.

Most of this whole thread is debating man made divisions and how they interpret Scripture. What is so hard about understanding faith comes by hearing...........

The Primitive Baptists on this board are IMO no doubt saved beyond a doubt, in fact, I find their demeanor superior to most. The fact is however, somewhere, somehow, they heard the Gospel. God does not sit on His thrown with His magic star wand zapping people all the day long.

I pray that God would convict the sinner in question of their sin and I hope that they will excercise their free will by repenting and believing.

I'd like to repeat this question, and anybody may answer who knows of any Scripture we Primitive Baptists (please do not lump us with Calvinists, no reflection on them, but anyone who does so already shows he knows nothing much about Primitive Baptists) take to an extreme that Scriptures do not teach.

    Welcome, Brother. :wavey:

I'm sorry your first post was treated with such rudeness. :tear:

There are many on this board who do not agree with that person's opinions and viewpoints.

Please do stay around and get to know the rest of us. That said, be forewarned. :) This is a Baptist Board.
Thus, we do have fights about the color of carpet in the center isle of the church.

You have the option of joining the fray with your choice of color or standing on the side lines and just watching. If I were a betting person, I'd bet you'd be shaking your head, as often as I do. ;)

Speaking as a layman, or shaking your head wondering "what in the heck are they talking about?".

Jer 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses ? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trusteth, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan ?
