I belong to one church for 40years and decided I was getting too old to travel so far and the church was changing. So I started looking for a churchI could walk to if I got too old to drive.I'm 77 years old.Well I thought I found the perfect church but I'm having my doubts.People used to be friendly but for some reason things have changed. It could be me.I could be getting old and out of touch. The way they started dressing and the new music kind of rubbed me the wrong way and there is nothing the older people can do.They have given most of them a plaque and moved them on.Should I stick it out till God calls .ShouldI look for another church.Should I change my outlook and attitude. It could be me.I need your help and prayers :BangHead: :praying:

Dear lady, it does get hard, doesn't it? Things are changing, and the idea of simple worship and Bible reading seems to have given way so many times to entertainment and 'ideas'. If you can't find a church close by, maybe you and a few friends could simply start a Bible study at your own home. There are a number of pastors and elders in many churches who would understand and might be willing to help you out there. Getting older sure isn't for the faint-hearted, is it?

If you do find a church you like a little further away, maybe there is someone who could drive you?

    God bless you!

In our church, we have a Senior Saints Sunday School class and also a group of Senior Saints that do activities together. The Assoc. Pastor picks them all up in a shuttle bus and they go out for dinner, etc. together.

Maybe you could approach your pastor about something of that nature.

No one knows how to pray quite like a Senior Saint!!! They are to be respected and revered!!!

    God bless you!

YES!!!! Just one of the "Fringes" of being a Pastor!!

There was a Sr. Adult lady in my church back years ago----her and her sister would have doctor appointments once a month up in Memphis---and they'd ask me

"Preacher! Can you drive us up to Memphis tomorrow??"

I never missed a chance---because I knew we'd stop off at Western Sizzlin' for the Lunch "Steak Special":godisgood:
