Is it okay to pray to God that he smites false teachers?

I once listened to a pastor talking about how he was listening to false teachers on the radio and he said he prayed that God would either smite them with truth or he might smite them anyway.
    Is this biblical?

God will take care of false teachers. Your job is to avoid them.

But what if there are false teachers which cause lot of problems? Can you not pray to God to stop them and either make them repent or to remove them?

As long as you reject false teachers, what kind of problems can they cause you? The Bible tells us to stay away from them. If you stay in God's word you will be able to recognize them and they will be no problem for you. God will stop them, don't worry. They'll get what they deserve. If you want to pray for them though, pray they will repent.

But false teachers can cause harm to others.

Does God not punish such people? Or does he allow them to do whatever they want in this life?

God will punish them, but yes, God allows us to sin in this life. There is nothing you can do to stop a false teacher. There is no law against it. You have to let it go and spend your time and brain power learning from God and putting what you learn into practice. That's your job.

I HAVE prayed for those listening to false teaching - that they will be able to discern truth from falsehood.

    Luke 9:
52: And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53: And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
54: And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
55: But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
