Is it sinful to pray for an evil person’s death?

    Are you praying for someone to die because they have a habit of lying? Really? That's seems a fairly low standard for seeking someone's death.

    It seems unseemly to me to pray for someone's death. If you are praying for abuse to end then pray for a transformed life in the person who is abusive and/or protection for those being abused.

    You are obviously frustrated with this person. I hope you can see that praying for their death is extreme and says more about you than it says about them.

    I did not say I was praying for her death, rather to take her out of interacting with people. It’s Gods deal, not mine. You got that.

    In point of fact, I did. Here is the your position as outlined on page 1:

    You specifically began by asking about praying for a person's death in the Opening Post.

    ... You are praying this to 'stop evil' (which does not contradict your initial post of praying "for an evil person's death".

    "take out" is a common euphemism for death.

    "take out" and "gone" are both completely in agreement with your initial post about praying "for an evil person's death". When someone calls you on your posts to this point (all presented above), you respond with ...

    I am surprised at your shock that someone might think that a topic titled about praying for a person's death with posts about 'knowing an evil person' and praying for God to "take them out" and "remove them" might be interpreted as your wanting to pray for the death of a sinner.

    Are you... too bad. I covered my arse by asking the brethren how to handle my conversation with the Lord. If it is His wish to take her, then that’s what’s a going to happen.

    And if he keeps her around, then she is gonna continue hurting people cause she likes it... and that will cause damage to people unaware of her proclivities. Again my conversation with Him will testify that I’ve covered the topic to its completion. It is now up to Him to conclude the proper thing to do.

    God can transform a person's life so that the behavior will stop. No need to pray for death. Pray for a transformed life.

    The question you asked reveals a misguided mindset at the very least.

    That is Gods call, not ours. I have seen Him provide death and life and punishment ... or just pass by them to there eventual life in hell. My prayer is for Him to make his presence known to the evil one but more to stop that evil so it doesn’t befall another. If it’s Gods intent to kill someone in order to stop the spread of evil, then let it be. I’m fine with it. Who am I do argue with God.

    You are really hung up on this chick. People are sinners, dude. Regardless of the labels, no one is any better or worse than anyone else. Living in this world means you are going to be mistreated. Christ's commandment is to turn the other cheek and pray for one's abuser. The man who can do that is a strong man, and emotionally secure. Move on, and let other people worry about how they will deal with the adversity God sent them.
