I was joking around with my fiance one night and told her I would like to have an AC/DC t-shirt. She didn't realize I was joking and bought me one. Would it be wrong to wear this? I know many will say no because of Christian freedom and that not wearing it would be legalism, but I mean they sing "hells bells" and "highway to hell". Couldn't it possibly hurt my testimony? I mean I am not saying that listening to secular music is wrong but this is a group that many believe to be devil worshipers or at least anti Christianity. What do you guys think? Maybe it's a crazy question but I am curious what others think.

I wouldn't wear it. This would be similar to supporting the lyrics they sing. I hate legalism more than the next guy, but I don't think it's appropriate.

If it bothers you so much that you have to ask us... it is going against your convictions. So I wouldn't advise you to.

I was visiting a Baptist Church about 10 years ago . It was communion Sunday . One of the men handing out the elements was wearing a Mega-Death T-shirt . I was dismayed .

Why advertise for the enemy, there's a lot of other shirts you could wear. If it isn't for the glory of the Lord, then why wear it.

My friend I do hope you have thick skin.

Wouldn't this be a good opportunity for you to share with your fiance your feelings about it and work through it together?

This is why you shouldn't joke with women. 9 times out of 10 it is lost on them. Then, when your really serious, they think your joking.

Not really a response to the question per se (although I agree with those who ask you just to consult your conscience and listen to the discomfort you are feeling) ... but this reminds me of something I saw on TV news a few days ago: a suspect is being sought in a violent crime in our area, and one of the identifying marks is that the perpetrator was wearing a T-shirt that announced, "Jesus is My Homeboy". What a horrible discontinuity!

All things are lawful but not all benificial...

    Christians have perfect liberty.

Surely we do not want to promote the world and the the things that cause people to be lost. I sometimes wear Linux stuff like a hat or t-shirt, thats worldly but different!

My t-shirt today has Acts 26:24 on it in a humourous sort of way :)

If a Christian wears a t-shirt like this, it's not so much the act of wearing the t-shirt that bothers me, it is why someone would want to wear it in the first place? Are they a "fan" of AC/DC? If so, why? Why would a Christian be a fan of such a group? The t-shirt is just a sympton of a deeper problem. Or are they wearing it for shock value? Again, that points to a deeper problem of a rebellious spirit.

You could always wear it for her. :)

Apart from that, unless you're a hick with a mullet and a beat-up Camaro, I wouldn't suggest it.

    1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
[22] Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Is it legalism to refrain from activity that is harmful because of the impact it would have on your children? In the world are those who are less than children because they are not yet born of the Spirit.

    1 Corinthians 10:31 KJVR
[31] Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

    Exactly

Only for approxiamately 90% of BB members:praying:
And wearing the t-shirt to satisfy the girlfriend would also not glorify God. though it would more glorify the girlfriend.

Yes. And I would have helped the jerk in the mega-death T-Shirt out the door, gently, if possible.
