Is Obama a "natural born" citizen ?? Is his candidacy constitutional?

    Am I understanding the article correctly that under the law back then that if only one parent was a U.S. citizen that unless that U.S. citizen was at least 21 years old when his/her child was born that the child was not a U.S. citizen?

    I say we deport John Sidney McCain as an illegal alien. He was born in the Panama Canal Zone. :laugh:

    The speculation about Obama is moot, since he was born in Hawaii, definitely a state of the United States when he was born in 1961. His parents could both be from Mars, it wouldn't matter.

    Realistically, I don't think that any of the anti-Obama folks should get their hopes up that this technicality, even if there is any validity to it at all, will derail Senator Obama's candidacy.

    Wouldn't that be something, to go against the Constitution of these United States....

    Oh, that's right, Congressman Henry Hyde (R) told us the Constitution is no longer relevent.....

    I like your idea, Ken, toss out both Obama and McCain and start over. :wavey:

    The residency rules only apply to children born outside the U.S.

    From the 14th Amendment:
    All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

    So, MP, if he was really born where he says he was born and there is nothing to hide and no question as to him being a natural born citizen, he should show us the goods.....
