In the first quarter of his campaign Obama claimed to be a Uniter. As of this date it is apparent he has failed to be just that. In fact things are more likely worse than better. He has already failed the test of one of his goals. IMHO

What is yours? Has Obama been successful at being a Uniter thus far?

If he's united anyone, I'm certainly not in that circle: Neither am I seeking admittance.

He isn't in charge yet, how can he of failed?

Are you implying he should drop out the race in order to unite the conservative party?

IMO, Obama will be very divisive, probably more so than Bush or Clinton. His policies are supported by a scant minority of the population. Again, remember, running against a very poor candidate who is tied tightly to a very hated administration, Obama cannot muster much of a solid lead. That is a show of just how many people don't like him.

I don't think he should drop out of the race to unite the conservative party. I think he should drop out of the race because he has bad policies and bad politics.

Far too early to answer the question. But he can never be as divisive to us or the world as Bush. Bush squandered a huge amount of good will felt toward the US after 9/11 and turned us [him and our government] into one of the least liked or trusted in the world. Very sad legacy.

His claims have always been lies.

Socialist liberals are incapable of being "uniters". They are, and always have been, dividers. Pitting one segment of society against the other for their own gain is their stock in trade.

    NO!

He is not a uniter, he is a conqueror.

Crabtown is right about President Bush squandering good will both abroad and here at home. Bush did this because he became an appeaser reaching out to those he should have beaten down. Bush allowed his political enemies to recover and then they attacked him.

Obama will not make that mistake. Once he seizes power he will do everything he can to secure and strengthen that power. I am worried he will do it by giving citizenship to 20 million illegals.

    Genghis Kahn said
I think this is pretty close to how Obama thinks.

He's A Uniter Along the Lines of Hitler???

Hitler was used to draw you into my post. I am not saying Obama is like Hitler, nor am I saying he is Hitler. But, some of his ideas are along the lines of Hitler. Things like a National Peace Keeping Army??? Throwing people off his plane the last few days of the campaign. He tossed them because there was no room for them, but he brought in several other media groups to fill those seats. This was Hitler like because the three writers worked for papers that endorsed McCain. He's supporting the killing of unborn children through abortion, and when a partial-birth abortion is botched, he supports giving them NO medical attention. These things really scare me, and his ability to come out of no where and win everything hands down, is an indicator that should cause many of us to tremble and quake in our boots.

Only history will prove me right or wrong.

He can only be a uniter if the nation wants to be united. I don't believe that you are willing to be united under Obama. Am I right?

Oh, but you did say that. It's at the top of this thread. Should I "draw people into a thread" by claiming that "All Republicans are going to Hell?" Then I could say, Oh I really didn't mean that.

See. You believed my potential title which I don't believe. A lot of people (most) believed yours. How did you change it? Didn't it say something about Hitler? Don't tell me you were just trying to attract people to your thread. I don't accept that explanation.

Glad you're giving him a fair opportunity to succeed.

You are one person with one vote. Just don't give him your vote.

    That's What We Voted For...

Your vote, and mine, gave us both the right to speak and write as we do. You have the right to not accept my explanation, I hope that validated your feelings.By the way, IMHO I see you as an interesting piece of work in progress. I just hope you get to where you are going [in life] without alienating everybody from your band of support.

People who opt out of America's promise will not be united. That's clear. Maybe you should consider leaving the country.

Serving in the military and serving on many NATO exercises since 1989, I can tell you with a great amount of certainty, the majority of the world has never liked America or Americans.

President Bush has nothing to do with this. I cannot believe the amount of blame people just want to throw at President Bush. Do you blame clinton for 9-11? All of the planning and staging for this happened during his watch. President Bush had not been in office long enough for it to happen during his time in office. 9-11 was not a "world uniting" event! It was a cowardly act carried out by cowards who were backed by cowards who are now running for their lives because we had a President that decided it was not "OK" to attack us on our land.

I had friends who died on the USS Cole, do you know how many of those responsible are in jail or have been brought to justice, ZERO! clinton did nothing, but I bet all those responsible just loved us until President Bush ruined our reputation with the world.

President Bush was far from perfect, and I did not agree with a lot of what he had to say and what he did. However, I wish he had been President when this happened, at least justice would have been served.
