Interesting. They show up in the SBC.Net search. Also interesting that one of their web sites uses "baptist" in the url: http://hopebaptist.webstarts.com/

Maybe they "used to be" Baptists?

Apparently not very: scroll down to the lengthy disclaimer on the results page of the 'SBC church' search:

"The ChurchSearch and MinisterSearch features should not be construed as official or exhaustive listings, nor should reference to any minister be considered proof of ordination or licensure, or an endorsement, recommendation, or indication of certification or qualification"

All a church needs to do - is to go to the SBC church page - and deleted their listing.

Those I know don't, in the States. The membership of church I attend has a large Filipino segment.

It's probably as accurate as you can expect any list of this type and size to be. SBC.net notes that "Accuracy of the information relies upon regular, voluntary input from the churches and cooperating ministries, either via the Annual Church Profile, or directly, using the Update feature." Once a church gets on a list like this, they tend to stay on because (1) they have moved on and give no thought to the list, and (2) the general attitude of another party not wanting to remove them from the list because they might make a mistake (i.e. removing a church that shouldn't be removed), etc.

The only one who can remove a church form the SBC list is the individual church themselves -(via an authorized rep of the church) or the appropriate State Convention - authorized rep.
In fact, when I wanted to add our church last year - there was only one individual on the State staff that was was to give us the authorized access.

I have made two mission trips to the Philippines and spent a lot of time out in the remote provinces and nobody there eats dogs either. They were all pampered pets, just like here.

This is a hold over from the days when the Philippines was a poverty stricken nation. Things have changed in the past 20 years. Most of the money that left Hong Kong when it became part of Red China ended up in the Philippines. The economy is booming.

As to eating dogs, China is another story.

    Yumm-oh. That's been my experience.
EWF, I live in the midst of a large Filipino-American community. I live next to Daly City aka Little Manila. In the Coast Guard due to recruiting practices back in the day, I served with at least one Filipino. So, I've got more than a passing familiarity of the emigre community.

IF they are still on the SBC list - they can delete them selves.
Now, IF I were the DOM - I would be concerned.
