You're the one who implied, through sarcasm, that it was not coincidental. I would think that the onus is on you, but...since I don't expect you to produce evidence to back up your assertion, I will answer by saying ":tongue3:".

And you're the one who implied that my assertion wasn't true. I would think the onus is on you to prove your assertion but since I don't expect you to produce any evidence to back up YOUR assertion, I will answer with [IMG]

What would be the religious consequences of a Mormon President?

Mormonism is works salvation. They believe if they live a pure life they will someday be gods. It is a false religion that will take a person to hell.

That said, Mormons generally are very moral people. Most do not smoke, drink, take drugs, gamble, cheat on their wife, etc... Most are model citizens.

A Mormon President would probably be a very moral President. They think they have to be moral to go to heaven and become a god.

Mormons are no different from Catholics or many Protestants or any other religion that believe you work your way to heaven.

I know of only two Baptist Presidents, Carter and Clinton. Carter was totally inept, Clinton was a scoundrel.

Morality is measured by God's perfect standard. And by God's standard, Romney is wicked and immoral.

This is why the country is where it is. The folks who are supposed to keep God first keep aiding the enemy in instituting evil (smh) because everybody wants to do what is right in his own eyes and measure according to his own standards instead of GOD's.

He rejects the Jesus Christ of the Bible , then he is as immoral as they come.

W.G. Harding and H.S. Truman were also Baptists. Neither would have made a good Mormon.

Predictable how folks will co-sign with untruth when it meets their needs. Sounds like the Dems.

I didn't say that any of us did. But morality is still measured against God's standard, and thus there can be NOTHING moral about a person who rejects Jesus Christ unless that person is being measured by a human standard.

The scriptures instruct us how to deal with unbelievers in the world.

1 Cor 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

The scriptures are very practical. The Lord knows we are in a world full of fornicators, the covetous, idolaters, etc... It is impossible to avoid all contact with these persons, else we would have to leave the world itself.

Do you fail to buy groceries because the man who owns the store is a Muslim? No. Do you fail to buy clothes because they were made in China by Buddists? No. Do you fail to buy a car because the man who owns the car company is Catholic? No. Do you fail to work because the man who owns your company is a Episcopalian? No.

There is just no way to avoid unbelievers. God does not expect us to avoid all unbelievers, but he does expect us to act differently from them and not to partake in their sins.

If you try to avoid all unbelievers you end up like one of these sects, living in isolation from the world. We are not instructed to do that. We are allowed to have contact and conduct business, etc... with unbelievers.

I would love to have a godly Christian President, but there is not one on the ballot. So, you have to choose what is best for the country.

    I didn't know that, thanks!

    I actually liked Truman, even if he was a Democrat, Democrats were much different before the 60s. He made tough decisions, I like that. Unlike Obama who blames everything on someone else, Truman was famous for saying;

    The buck stops here.

Are you attempting to set the man up from whom you buy groceries as the leader of the free world? No.

Are you attempting to set them up as the leader of the free world? No.

Are you attempting to set the car salesman up as the leader of the free world? No.

Are you attempting to set him up as the leader of the free world? No.

Who said anything about avoiding them? At issue is the damage that will be done to the Christian witness as the result of setting a false-god worshiper up as leader of the free world while trying to tell people they need Jesus.

Again, no one is trying to avoid unbelievers.

What is best for the country is Jesus Christ. Settling for what's on the ballot just because it's the only thing on the ballot doesn't equal doing what's best for the country.

And if it endorses that which is against Christ, it is the very wickedness that has brought the country to its current place.

What's the difference? he is not a Christian, and he may very well be promoting his religion in my community.

And what would you say about Joseph who faithfully served Pharaoh? The Egyptians were terrible idolaters. Joseph was so faithful he was promoted to be the #2 man in all the land.

What about Daniel? He served several pagan kings. He was so faithful, when the Medes/Persians defeated the Babylonians they kept Daniel in power.

You have to do what's best like Mordecai in the book of Esther. He also served a pagan king (Ahasuerus). If not for Mordecai and Esther (who married this pagan king), the Jews would have been slaughtered and wiped out by evil Haman.

Mordacai also revealed a conspiracy to prevent the king from being assassinated. (Est 2:21-23).

None of these men compromised their faith. They all continued to serve the true God, yet they all faithfully served these wicked pagan kings. All of them were promoted to positions of great power within wicked kingdoms. This provided them a way to serve God and help their people.

I do not like the fact that Romney is a Mormon. But he is pro-life, and for that reason alone I would vote for him, to stop the killing of innocent babies. Obama has been very active in his support of abortion which can only bring a curse on our nation. But I also believe he would restore our country to a spirit of working hard and not being dependent on government. I do not believe he is a Socialist like Obama.
