    Is electronic keyboard media savvy?

I prefer an organ over those keyboards. Too bad I'm not the musician... :BangHead:

You make fun. I visited a church in the last three to five years. They still use cassettes for back up music (as opposed to CD'S). Go figure.

We don't video the service for the website but we do tape it and have up MP3s (I mis-voted on that one). It's actually my job to do all the stuff that goes on the screen during the service - the songs, announcements, graphics, etc. We DO sometimes use video during the service - not so much during the worship time but for other things as is needed.

Our Christmas offering this year is to upgrade the sound system in the sanctuary. Our speakers are 20 years old and beginning to die - and DH has done all he can to fix them (he's an electrical/computer engineer with a specialty of audio), but it's time to fix it all. We also need to upgrade our wireless mics since next year, the frequencies that we use will be taken away for other things (January 2009 - when TV will no longer be broadcast over the air but will be all digital). What we have will be useless so we might as well look into new equipment now.

Yep, we're pretty technically media savvy. :)

Among other things, I ticked "electronic keyboard", but I don't think that is any indication of how "media savvy" we are. We use the keyboard (rather than a piano or organ) simply because it is more portable. We meet in hired premises, so everything has to be packed away into the very limited storage space we have there, or taken home in the boot (I think Americans call it "trunk") of my car. UK cars don't tend to be as large as American ones, so I couldn't fit a piano in the boot!

We do make audio recordings of sermons, but not primarily for the web site. We keep copies in the church library, and we can make copies for people to keep if they can use them.

now if he has one of those that fits on the side of the head, he'd really be savvy...

My church basically uses all of the above, they also broadcast the service over a live feed on the town's television network.

The only bit of "technology" that has entered our little church is a electric piano. It sounds like a normal piano but it can also sound like an organ. Beyond that our church is firmly rooted in the 1950s.
