Am I the only person getting bored of all these constant warnings about terror? - I suppose it is different for us in europe, we have been living with the terrorist threat for so long that it is pretty much seen as a normal part of everyday life.

When your skyscrapers start becoming targets for hijacked airplanes, let us know if you are still bored.

sorry? I don't understand what you are getting at?

My point is that at the end of the day we have to get on with our normal lives and that these constant warnings about terrorism lose there impact - why are you attacking me for that?

or is it that you don't believe that europe has suffered from terrorism? - perhaps the 3,000 + killed in 'the troubles' in Northern Ireland don;t count? or maybe the 1000 or so killed by ETA in Spain don;t count?

our skyscrapers have long been terrorist targets - the post office tower, the bishopsgate bomb etc etc etc

No one no matter where they live should feel as if they are used to potential terrorist attacks. That is not living life to the full as we are promised by our new life in Christ. Being used to potential terrorist attack is simply existing and hoping that it is not your day to die. This is why all freedom loving people of the world must work together to expose these terrorists and stop them in their tracks.

    I agree 100%

But you do become de-sensitized to it after a while - there is only so much that you can worry and if you are constantly frightened then you have let them win - that was all I was saying - after a while it just becomes 'normal'

The article was not posted as a warning although the terrorists intended it as that. I posted the article not as a warning but because of the following which I thought were self evident.

One of the sources of the terrorists’ chemical/biological weapons is Iraq. What are the reasons for the threats? Could it be they want the countries in that area to put pressure on the US not to invade Iraq? Do they want to keep their source of chemical/biological weapons intact? Should we cave in to the terrorists like France? Then the last question I had that is unanswered; If Iraq is not disarmed, how long will it be before they or their other terrorist friends are on US soil with their chemical/biological weapons? This threat shows the cooperation of the terrorists and Iraq, and the need to disarm Iraq ASAP, by the USA alone if necessary, for our own protection.

Forgive me for offending a brother, I am relatively new on the BB. I believe you could have read the subject and not pulled it up if you were bored or disinterested, that's what I do. But I will remove your temptation by not posting such again. Have a great day in the Lord.

sorry - I didn't mean that the thread bored me - I was trying (badly!) to express that it is difficult to keep reading these warnings and still be on edge

    Apologies for the misunderstanding

Thanks and possibly I wasn’t as clear as I should have been. I read the article for the information it revealed concerning the terrorists. I can see that others may have read it just as a threat made by terrorists. Anyway, God Bless and have a great day.

My remark has bothered me all day long, and I couldn't wait to log on tonight and retract for it. It was uncalled for, and I offer my sincere apologies.

Inhim2002, as one who has had a lifetime (which I suspect is longer than yours) living in the heart of terrorist situations through out the world and not just in the uk, may I gently make one suggestion. We gain nothing and lose everything by complacency.

Yes, we need to live life as normal as we can, but it is sensible for the authorities to remind us to be vigilant and alert. As christians, this should also enable us to pray more effectively and specificly because it is informed prayer.

    yours, Jon.
