Please be aware the Islamic symbols of hate tower over the city of Tampa.

Please join me in the effort to have the crescents removed from the minarets that pollute the sky line and besmirch the good name of Tampa University.

This is no different then having a swastika hanging over the heads of the students and citizens of Tampa area.

Why is there a swastika in your pic on the member profile? :(

How about introducing yourself in the Welcome Section at the top of the Board? [IMG]

This is not Damascus, or Tehran. While government is not free to promote religious symbols, individuals and private groups have that right.

And yes, you can even display the swastika if you like.

It's one of the consequences of living in a free society.

And since we live in a constitutional representative democracy,(not a pure democracy) you have to repeal the Bill of Rights, before you can get those Muslim symbols removed.

    I like it that way.

I think Lady Eagle was referring to the SWASTIKA in your profile.

Speech is protected as long as you don't go tell someone to go beat up or kill somebody or yell fire in a crowd etc.... Then you cross the line. If someone wants to display a Islamic symbol that is protected. Is the City of Tampa displaying these symbols or is it Mosques or individuals? If it is a Religious group, mosque or individual there is nothing that can be done since the Bill of Rights protects freedom of Religion.

Oh, c'mon! It was in the picture on your profile. It's not there now, either because you removed it or it was removed by a moderator. Don't call the rest of us liars.

I don't think anyone has a problem with discussing Islam, but I think the links to the photos should be deleted. What say the mods?

WAS THIS THE PICTURE THAT YOU GUYS WHERE SAYING WAS ON MY PROFILE
THE SITE IS A CLEARING HOUSE ABOUT THE FRUIT OF ISLAM
In Matthew 7:15 – 20, Jesus taught: "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Your profile picture was two men raising a swastica flag. It was a very large picture and certainly not appropriate for a Christian web board.

I was personally offended by the site that you had which included a video of a person being shot in the head and killed, several gross pictures of people who were dead, and frontal female nudity. That shouldn't be allowed, I don't think.

Does anyone know the history of the architecture of the University of Tampa? Some of the buildings are definitely Islamic in looks.

I wouldn't tear them down for that, though.

"Plant's next hotel went way beyond hints. Construction of the Tampa Bay Hotel began in 1888. The 500-room resort opened in 1891, built and lavishly furnished at a then-staggering cost of $2.5-million.

The hotel made headlines across the country not just for its price tag but for its extravagant, exotic style, Braden writes, "variously labeled Moorish, Spanish, Islamic, Arabic, Mohammedan, Saracenic, Byzantine, Persian, Hindoo and Oriental."

In other words, architect James Wood wasn't much interested in "local Florida residential architecture." The building, with its 13 silver minarets, onion domes and horseshoe arches, looked as if it belonged in an Arabian Nights tale rather than in a still-scruffy riverside town, until then best known for its yellow fever outbreaks.

The hotel had ballrooms, parlors, elegant dining rooms and wide verandas; the grounds offered botanical gardens, hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, bowling, a theater and a casino. And Plant's railroad delivered the guests: first society folk and a few years later Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders, on their way to Cuba.

Today the Tampa Bay Hotel is the main building of the University of Tampa campus and the city's most recognizable structure. Its expansive grounds pared away, hemmed in by skyscrapers and dormitories, it's still a dash of magic across the relentlessly unmagical face of downtown Tampa."

The mid-to-late 1800s experienced a fascination with things middle eastern. Ever take a look at some of the spiffier Civil War uniforms?

Zouave units, with elaborate North African-inspired uniforms were popular with both sides.

This building is a historic structure, 110 years old, that is now under the care of the U of T.

The original poster almost implies that these structures were recently built to foster religion. Not remotely so.

The "concern" over its appearance is clearly much ado about nothing.

WELL ,I GET TO SEE THEM DAY AFTER DAY
I UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE FROM THE HOLY WRITINGS OF ISLAM
THEY ARE HATEFUL AND DEMAND MY DEATH.
    THE CRESCENT IS THEIR SYMBOL.

There is but one Islam, a singular correct view of Muhammad, his religion, and his god. It is the one found in the Qur’an and Hadith. There is no independent record of Muhammad in history from which a variant view may be drawn. The Hadith and Qur’an are the sole repository of information on this man, his times, means, and mission. The Muhammad of Islam, the god of Islam, and the religion of Islam must be as these sources present them. Prophet of Doom is dedicated to exposing Islam’s scriptures and what Muhammad had to say about himself, his ambition, religion, and god
“So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can.”

Muhammad’s Terrorist Dogma Islam, in His Own Words

Terror: Bukhari Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been made victorious with terror!” Qur’an I shall terrorize the infidels. So wound their bodies and incapacitate them. Tabari The battle cry was: “Kill! Kill! Kill!” Fighting: Bukhari Fighting in Allah’s Cause is better than the world and whatever is in it. Qur’an Wipe the infidels out to the last. War: Qur’an Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them. Take them captive, harass them, and ambush them using every stratagem of war. Qur’an Fight them till all opposition ends and the only religion is Islam. Ishaq We are pledging ourselves to wage war against all mankind. Murder: Tabari Killing disbelievers is a small matter to us. Bukhari The Prophet had their men killed, their women and children taken as captives. Ishaq The prophet declared, “Kill every Jew.” Torture: Qur’an Crucify them or cut off a hand and foot on opposite sides. Ishaq Muhammad ordered, “Torture him until you root out what he has.” Thievery: Qur’an Booty is lawful and good. Tabari Muhammad began seizing their herds and property bit by bit. Stupidity: Bukhari The Prophet said, “I have been caused by Allah to forget the Qur’an. So keep reciting it because the Qur’an escapes faster than a runaway camel.” Bukhari Satan circulates in human beings as blood flows in our bodies. Science: Bukhari If a man has sexual intercourse and gets discharge first, the child will resemble him. Tabari Gabriel brings the sun a garment of luminosity. It is longer in the summer. The sun puts it on as you put on your clothes. Tabari The sun tumbles from its chariot, causing a total eclipse. Tolerance: Bukhari If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him. Qur’an Prepare against the infidels whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you can terrorize them. Freedom: Qur’an No Muslim has any choice after Allah and his Apostle have decided a matter. Racism: Ishaq The Prophet said, “If a black man comes to you, his heart more gross than a donkey’s.” Women: Tabari The Prophet married Aisha. At the time, she was six. Qur’an You may take whomever you desire. Bukhari I was shown hell, and the majority of its dwellers were women. Money: Tabari What is this religion? Muhammad claims Allah has sent him with this religion so that the treasures of Persia and Rome will be given to him by conquest. Demons: Bukhari A person missed the morning prayer, so the Prophet said, “Satan urinated in his ears.” Ishaq Muhammad said, “Woe is me. I am possessed.” Deception: Qur’an Allah has sanctioned the dissolution of your vows. Qur’an Allah is not bound by treaties. Bukhari War is deceit. Qur’an You have in the Messenger a beautiful pattern of conduct to follow.

Suppose you stumbled upon the constitution of an organization that was terrorizing the world. Would you ignore such a document, or would you read it? Suppose you discovered that this constitution’s most prominent themes were pain and punishment, thievery and violence, intolerance and war. If the regime’s charter ordered its devotees to kill, plunder, and terrorize, would you sound an alarm?
What if this covenant was supported by a manifesto that contained the only authorized biography of the regime’s founder? What if the first devotees of this doctrine, its co-founders, said that their leader was a sexual predator, a pirate, and a terrorist? If you found such evidence, what would you do with it? What if this leader motivated his mercenaries to murder and mayhem by allowing them to keep what they had stolen in the name of the cause—their victim’s homes, businesses, money—even their women and children?
All right, no more hypotheticals. I’m going to share some passages from this constitution—from the covenant of the world’s largest and most violent organization. I have changed the names to disguise the source without altering the message. “Your leader has sent you from your homes to fight for the cause. Your leader wished to confirm the truth by his words: wipe those who disagree with us out to the last. We shall terrorize everyone who is unlike us! So smite them on their necks and every joint, and incapacitate them, for they are opposed to our doctrine and our leader. Whosoever opposes our doctrine and our leader should know that we are severe in retribution. And know that one-fifth of what you acquire as booty in war is for our great leader (the rest is for you). The use of such spoils is lawful and good.”
This popular and misunderstood constitution says: “Fight them till all opposition ends and only our doctrine rules. If you meet anyone who disagrees with us in battle, inflict on them such a defeat as would be a lesson for those who come after them, that they may be warned. Slaughter those who disagree with us wherever you find them. Lie in wait for them. They are specimens of foolishness. Punish them so that our superior dogma and leader can put them to shame. If you apprehend treachery from a people with whom we have a treaty, retaliate by breaking it off. Those who do not think like us should know that they cannot bypass our doctrine. Surely they cannot get away. Fight them until they pay a heavy tax in submission to us; how perverse are they. Our leader and his doctrine will damn them. For anyone who offends our leader or opposes our doctrine will receive a painful punishment. We will burn them alive. So prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster, that you may strike terror in the enemies of our cause!”
This constitution is genuine, and millions follow its message. Exposing it —understanding it—might actually save you from the wrath it inspires. The covenant goes on to say: “Our great leader urged all who agree with us to fight. If there are twenty among you with determination, you will vanquish two hundred; and if there are a hundred, then you will vanquish a thousand of our enemy, for they are a people devoid of understanding. Our great leader drove your enemy back in fury. He motivated our side in battle. He made their citizens flee from their homes and he terrorized them so that you killed some and made many captive. Our great leader made you inherit their lands, homes, and wealth, and gave you a country you had not traversed before.”
This sounds like a terrorist manifesto—a covenant for war and genocide. Does anything this immoral, this out-of-touch with human decency, actually exist? If it did, and if it were this blatant, you’d expect to see its followers amassing their weaponry. You’d expect them to rise up and terrorize the world. Not only would they feel it was their duty to kill, you’d expect their fallen assassins to be immortalized—hailed as martyrs and paraded down crowded streets, banners waving, tears flowing, guns blazing, with angry diatribes spewing from hate-filled faces. You’d expect them to wage war under the guise of doctrinal supremacy, wouldn’t you? And if there were such people, our journalists and politicians would have ferreted them out, exposed them, and protected us. Right? Sorry no.

    Look:

I pass a Mormon church, a Buddhist temple, a Muslim mosque, and a Jewish synangogue every day on my way to work. Some of them have pretty nice architecture. My Christian faith is solid enough to not be threatened by their presence. If your faith is so insecure that you're threatened by these buildings, I suggest the issue is with your faith, not by someone else's building.
