First, it was a Missouri Analysis and Information Center (MIAC) report; then it was a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report; now it is a New York congressman's bill. Each of these items, taken on their own, is problematic enough; taken together they portend "a clear and present danger" to the liberties of the American people. It is getting very serious now.

    <snip>

This leads to a very serious question: how many of America's gun owners would allow their government to deny them gun ownership? Further, how many would passively sit back and allow their guns to be confiscated?

    I wonder.

It will be a sad day when our rights are thrown out the window. I'd sooner keep my guns & die than to give my guns up to a socialist dictator & be defenseless. The truth is I know that there are others out there that feel the same way about it too.

I figure about 80% of gun owners would turn in their guns rather than risk being accused of extremism or criminality by the state and global corporate media. The idea of standing up to tyranny just doesn't compute with most folks these days.

I suspect you have the numbers reversed. City people might capitulate but rural owners will rebel.

A deer hunter is no match for special forces fully equiped with automatics and already seasoned to kill. I just don't know!

Unless the deer hunter went through the same training and can hit a target the size of a pizza box from a thousand meters.

If you read military history-----particularly WW2---------one well placed sniper could pin down a whole company of infantry!!!

The infantry finally learned-------to pinpoint the sniper to a particular location and then call in artellery fire--------but that was a big waste of ammunition

In Vietnam------when the sniper was pinpointed----there was this airplane they called the F-4 Phantom-------he was called in to dispose of said sniper----------if the sniper was lucky enough----he became the receiving end of a B-52 strike!!!!!!!!!!

But see, Padre???? Its hard to hit a pizza box from a thousand meters if the pizza box is moving!!!!

Hard, but not impossible.....:wavey: Tell you what we can do, Bird. You hold the pizza box and.... But that would just be speculation on my part seeing I don't have any guns. Maybe a daisy air rifle but the government can have that when they pry it from my cold......

Can you imagine the Feds----------going "house to house" and all they see year after year, month after month, day after day--------is nothing but Daisy Red Riders

BB guns--------a kids toy!!!!!!!! Thats all I hunt with------is a BB gun----a kids toy!!!!!!!!!! Honest!!!!!

And sucks no---------the only way I'll let you shoot at my pizza box with me behind it-------is if I'm inside the turret of one of those M1A1 Abrams----------the only sound I'll hear from you is the "Ping---Ping" as the bullets bounce harmlessly off that big chunck of metal!!!!!!!!!

    [IMG]Here, kitty, kitty, kitty....

Just bring the pizza. We can eat it while speculating to no end what it would be like for the gov't to take away our guns; if, of course, we had anything besides Daisy air rifles and made ta home slingshots...

There are some in the Military who say that the American Military would never take action against American citizens. I don't know. Perhaps that is the reason obama wanted a civilian force equivalent to the military which has been discussed on this Forum.

Unfortunately and sadly, there will be many who's only experience is with a deer rifle or shot gun or small arm for protecting family and home, who may get the idea that they're Rambo.... but are powerless against the weapons and backup which would accompany the confiscation of our arms.

Might as well start practing with a slingshot.... BB gun and air gun.

Then when they ask you if you have any guns hidden and hook you up to brain scans, irisis scans, and galvanic skin response systems to determine if you're lying ............ or your kid goes out and blabs to his friends about what he knows of your preparations and they'll get the latest electronic gizmos if they turn in neighbors and friends ...........or a family member is taken and coerced and manipulated, threatened or hurt, to turn you in....... you'll have something to 'show' ..... while hopefully you've secreted away in hidding for a better day, your guns and ammo, and kept your mouth shut, if that's the way you want to go.

So many laws have been passed and have gone unchallenged which have provisions which upsurp the Constitution of the United States, and so many have become entrenced in the bondage of following without question, or enforcing without question...... that we haven't the slightest clue just how far the powers and potential powers in leadership have removed themselves from the constitutional restraints. Under the constitution, we can be lawful and still under the enforcement of laws passed be held as criminal.

When we have government passing laws and regulations prepared to enforce against us and the constitution of the United States, and a government which refuses to act within the limited powers and with the proper balance of divisions as presented in the constitution of the United States...... Our Government and our leaders who don't follow the constitution are lawless ones and traitors!
