    A BB member PM me with a great question:

    One thing about politics that I don't understand is why, when something has been proven to be a bad idea, do so many people say, "Well, it will be different this time!"

    What are your thoughts about this:

    First, there is always money to be spent on the program, and since the $$ are from taxes and not out of the Congressmans personal pocket - big deal. Second, most of these programs benefit the bottom 70%* of all citizens/residents. Anotherwards the vast majority of voters will benefite which means that the congressman will get reelected.
