I preached a sermon this Sunday night in response to George W Bush's decision this week. He totally missed the boat since the root of the problem is the IVF treatments in the first place! If embryos are a life, which even Bush said they are, then the IVF treatments should not even be carried out in the place since embryos are destroyed in the process.

The sermon is called "The Seven Sins of IVF". Here is the link to the MP3:

Wasted your time.... The people need a message based on the Word.
Too think you wasted that time when you could have preached the Gospel..

I know.... troll alert, and we should ignore them, but God placed that on my heart to say...

Our son-in-law, victim of a drunk driver, is a paraplegic. The only option he and our daughter have for her to get pregnant is IVF. They know it will probably be a multiple birth and we are nervous for her as she has two painful bulging discs from being hit by another driver, another time, but their hearts are yearning for their own little baby.

And someone wants to tell me they will be engaging in a sin?

    Excuse me....

as I understand it, embryos do not have to be destroyed in the process. As Helen pointed out, the couple can specify that they don't want to purposely destroy any embryos and it could result in a multiple birth.

    amen to pastor tinytim!

If I didn't know he was for real, I would think that he was part of that parody site, landover. I wonder if phelps needs an assistant pastor.

His type makes IFBs look bad.

But as much as I would run from his church, I believe in church autonomy, and if his congregation puts up with him..... (You fill in the blank)

I think this is what upsets me the most! The IFB reputation is tarnished enough without people like this!

I agree. I used to be IFB, but it was guys like this (not quite this bad though, but same mentality) that I ran from...

I still hold to the fundamentals, but the hyper-seperation, KJVO, hymn-only, hateful attitude moved me away from the movement. Of Course I know not all IFBs are like this...just where i was.. there are some in OH that I have visited that I really like.

    OK, I'm rambling now....

I cannot believe I am saying this. But I just noticed sanderson's birthday listed on the home page. He is still pretty young, perhaps he will mature out of some of this nonsense as he gets older.

Ok, enough sounding like my father. Back to your originally scheduled programming...

    I hope so.
I just wasted some time listening to his "sermon" on the KJB.
He equates the KJB with JESUS he quotes john 1:1 as applying to the KJV!
He needs help discerning his KJV.

Wow - he is young for a senior pastor!

Let us hope as he matures the Lord will give him some wisdom and discernment!

Have you noticed that Pastor Sanderson has left the building? This is his modus operandus. He will post a sermon on his website, alert us to it, then leave us to fume among ourselves. Rarely, if ever, does he stick around, or drop back in to defend himself.

Then again, I really don't blame him. One must be throrougly prepared to dare mix it up with you guys and gals. If not, you'll be dead meat in a heart beat.

Hey, Bro. Steve, c'mon back and engage.

This reminds me of a recent situation. A good friend of mine's pastor (Not FB) preached for 3 weeks on DaVinci Code. No, not 3 weeks in a row where he happened to mention the DaVinci Code. Three Sunday morning sevices devoted wholy to disproving the DaVinci Code. (BTW, that is the only service that church has every week. Another symptom of the problem, IMHO.)

Now my pastor mentioned the book and movie a couple of times, but only to say that it was typical Hollywood claptrap that tries to demine Christ. Never even 1/4 of a sermon on the topic. What happened to preaching the Gospel?? What happened to getting to the meat of the Word?? Preaching entire sermons on current events/politics/entertainment isn't feeding the sheep, it's placating the masses.
