In his attempt to make Piyush Jindal look bad, he puts egg on his face, again.

Wednesday morning on the CBS Early Show, Vice President Joe Biden asked, "But what I don't understand from Governor Jindal is what would he do? In Louisiana, there's 400 people a day losing their jobs. What's he doing?"
But that claim is wrong if you look at the numbers from the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
"In December, Louisiana was the only state in the nation besides the District of Columbia, according to the national press release, that added employment over the month," said Patty Granier with the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
"The state gained 3,700 jobs for the seasonally adjusted employment," Granier said of the most recent figures.
Those numbers are available on Louisiana's employment website, laworks.net.
Also available on the site are the state's latest unemployment statistics, statistics that appear to directly contradict what the vice president said Wednesday morning.
The latest statistics show from the week ending January 17th, there were 4,527 claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana. For the next week, that number dropped to 4,179. Economists credit a diverse economy for Louisiana's resilience to unemployment.
It's unclear where the vice president got his unemployment figures from. ...

Looks like perhaps the VP needs to check his facts before speaking.

    He's a gaff-a-minute. I don't know why they don't gag him. But I'm glad they don't. Very entertaining.

No, but I suspect it was for Ash Wednesday. Why ridicule his religion?

    Unbelieveable!
You don't like it if people make fun of yours, but you don't see anything wrong with ridiculing others. Very sad. Your words speak volumes about what is in your heart.

There is no reason to defend a false religion, but there is also no reason to ridicule it. Ridiculing someones religion is not the way to get them to turn from it and accept Jesus as the only way. In fact, ridiculing someone's religion will likely get them to stop listening to anything else you have to say. Explaining, in love, why their religion is false will get you much better results.

I think it is a joke that he wears an ash on his forehead for his religion when he doesn't even live by what his religion teaches about abortion, which the official stance of the Catholic Church is pro-life. He should be excommunicated.

Of course we could all band together and pray for him to get saved....

Attacking a man because of his peaceful religious practice is all the proof we need that conservatives have no high road when it comes to attacks.

I would hope that we would not resort to same petty tactics as the 'other side' but I guess that is hoping too much.

I agree. This is one reason I have become more and more cynical towards both sides of the aisle.

The OP had nothing to do with ash wednesday. I resent the implications about conservatives.

Thank you. This is my point. I should know by now that the worst thing you can do on BB is make an off-handed remark for a cheap laugh.

By the way, I've always been taught that Baptists abhore non-biblical religious symbolism in the name of Christ. But we're stealing the topic away from the OP so let's just drop it.

My days on BB are numbered.
