Truthfully, God will use the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit sent forth to yet more and more of the lost sheep as He wills, in order that they receive sight enabling them to look upon their crucified Savior, in this way God has saved men and will continue to do so until the fulness of time.

    As for John 3.16
is a wonderful scripture that teaches not salvation by the free choice and agency of man. It cannot but teach the love God has for His creation thus sending forth into the world "that was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Jn. 1.9-10. Here is verse 9 speaking of Christ, for it is by His coming He is the light for every man; do all receive this? No, why, because they have not the power to receive that which they cannot see; nor hear; note John 3.17-21.

Also remember in the days of Elijah God told that prophet He had reserved unto himself 7000 who had not bowed to the image of Baal, these were held by God's will.

    God Bless.

Actually, those who are lost will be found, they are a different category than those who believe not and are condemned already.

Where does the Bible say we should not pray for the dead?
