John McCain more likely to drop Sarah Palin, bookmakers say

The odds are not in favor of John McCain keeping Sarah Palin on his ticket, according to bettors.
The smart money thinks there's a better chance Tuesday than Monday that John McCain will dump Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Before the Republican senator's presidential campaign disclosed the pregnancy of Palin's 17-year-old daughter, bookmakers in Britain and Ireland were offering 20-1 odds or higher on a bet that she would be forced off the ticket, meaning a 1 pound ($1.78) bet would pay 20 pounds. Now that same bet will pay no more than 8 pounds.

"While it is rare that a VP candidate gets dropped, it's not completely impossible," said Ken Robertson, political betting analyst at Paddy Power Plc, a Dublin-based gambling company. "Lots of our punters are betting 'Shocking' Sarah's days are numbered," he added, using a nickname he came up with for the first-term Alaska governor.

Ken, you and I have argued in christian fellowship for a while now, and while I have disagreed with you on many issues I have still respected you as a brother (although maybe slightly misled, still a brother.

But now you post the odds from a gambling websie?

Are you hoping that the Palin families problem make you money?

I have no problem with a person gambling, or drinking alcohol, in moderation.

Since when do we look to bookies as a source for truth?

"We can't let truth stand in the way. We have to destroy this woman."

Yer dreamin', Ken. McCain finally did something right, and he knows it. This will not happen. Hillary is more likely to be president than Palin being thrown under the bus.

I have started a response several times and deleted it. I dont know what to say.

All that comes to mind is the liberal mindset of agreeing with the popular stance regardless of biblical teachings. I didnt realize that you based your beliefs on the "odds" or the poplular swing of the week.

I am very disappointed and didnt expect this from you.

I base my political votes and my social decisions on scripture, as best I can, and not on Las Vegas odds or poplular belief.

As all born again Christians should do. Scripture warns about those who are double minded. James 1:8

I am (as well as others) deeply offended that this topic was posted on the BB and am closing it now.
