In the next few days we will see released the unbridled fury of the radical left against the elevation of Judge Alito to the Supreme Court. It can be fairly stated that "hell hath no fury" like the radical left if they think Roe v Wade is in danger.

It is pathetic that on a Christian forum there are people who don't care about the opportunity to eliminate the murder of unborn children.

You're right, OR. I believe he will win, though - a lot of Bible-believing Christians are praying. What makes my skin crawl is seeing the likes of Mr. Chappaquidick sitting on this committee.

What amused me was when Sen. Kennedy was monologuing on Judge Alito being viewed as an elitist. I dunno, but isn't it a bit of the pot calling the kettle black when a Kennedy has concerns about appearng elitist? Don't get me wrong, I don't frown upon the privileged just because they're privileged. And y'all know I'm not a partisan politicker. It just appears a bit hypocritical.

Now, as far as this thread, it concerns me slightly that the potential exists here to make judgements upon fellow Christian members on this board based on a one-topic-only issue.

I personally favor Alito as the next SCOTUS justice. But I don't base that view on a sole topic. I base it on the fact that he has a history of being unswervingly constuctionist, adhering scrictly to the law in his previous judicial decisions. I see no signs of activism, either to the left or right, in his past judicial record. This makes him perfectly suited for the SCOTUS bench.

The opposition to Judge Alito boils down to one issue, the fear by the democrats that Roe v wade will be overturned.

Old Reg, are you listening to Kennedy droning on and on and on and on ad nauseum about some letter from Princeton written in 1985 to the alumni about men "eating clubs", etc. ????
    What a nut case! Shee@ ))

Thankfully I had to leave before Kennedy.

What, what's with the hieroglyphics on my post??? Strange.

Anyway, I'm praying for his protection and the protection of his family. The Democrats have been relentless and extremely cruel. His wife even cried. So if they are that cruel when the whole world is watching on TV, one can only imagine what some people will do to save their option of murdering babies. After all, killing babies is big business in the USA and the spirit of murder/blood lust is in some people's hearts. [IMG]

I'm praying for God to put a hedge of protection around him and his family.

    It's all they've got, LE.

Character assassination by association from 30 years ago. It's pitiful and a little nauseating.

I agree. Most of the questioning has been about this one issue. They are trying to get a "yes or no" out of him and so far he has been evasive.

If he ever gives a direct "no" answer, I don't want him, but he will be elected.

As a judge, he should not give them an answer. Just as Ginsburg would not answer questions. I wonder why the dems gave her a pass and not him? Hmmm?

Regardless of who is on the Supreme Court I think we are still at least a couple of decades away from the overturning of Roe v. Wade. I hope it is indeed overturned but the right to have an abortion is too ingrained in our current judicial system to overturn it anytime soon. Remember it was 58 years before Plessy v. Ferguson was overturned. The Roe v. Wade ruling will be 33 years old this month.

I also wonder why the dems accused GW Bush of "packing the court", yet no one accused Clinton of doing so. Bush and Clinton have both appointed two people to the high bench (Clinton appointed Ginsburg and Breyer, Bush appointed Roberts and Alito).
