I'm unhappy with this ruling. I believe there is no federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage. It seems the Court has overstepped its bounds.

Every person in this country has the right to marry but they must marry within the guidelines and laws of the state. I can't marry my brother, can I? Why not? Because it's against the law.

Unfortunately we're strapped with being forced to accept homosexual unions lest we be deemed a criminal (see the illegal alien criminalization thread). This judgement is just another blow to State's Rights and is just a slap in the face to the voter's of California who actually VOTED on this issue.

We're forever being pushed to accept the minority opinions and lifestyles, yet the stance of the majority means nothing anymore. More specifically, all religions and thoughts about religion must be accepted else you be deemed a criminal, with the exception of evangelical christians, who, of course, are wrong no matter what they say and we must do everything we can to keep them down.

    Oi!

There is no constitutional mention of any kind of marriage. You Constitutionalists should be complaining about the tax breaks for officially married people.

This is the problem with the Judiciary. The vote of the people and the democracy which we subsit is over looked in favor of forced laws by political activist judges on the high courts. It is in this manner our country is being hijacked.

The problem is this world is following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Why do you think society always degrades down basically the same paths, even if it started out fairly good (as good as possible for a society formed by fallen sinners)? Because there is a devil out there.

I've read "This Present Darkness" and I find it to be fanciful and not accurate of spiritual battles. I think it has more to do with men still dead in their sin wanting the light to stay off. Certainly devils assist by inspiring men. But I put more blame on men than the "prince of the power of the air" because simply saying the devil made him do it give his an excuse as Flip Wilson is so fond of making.

I think we all need to get used to seeing homos3xual marriages in our society. It is only a matter of time. (That said I'm not a fan)

This is exactly what happens when ever the Church abdicates their role to the government in society. The government should have no standing on marriage because it can corrupt it. the Church is the place where marriage should be held true and dear. Unfortunately we've bought into the idea that the government has to put its stamp on something to make it right.

This decision actually probably does more harm than good for homos3xual rights advocates. Soon and very soon the country will likely rise up and do something about this...possibly in November.

First of all, I'm not quoting some writing of men, but the bible. The bible told me that the world is being led about by Satan. You can reject that if you want to, but you are rejecting the inspired word of God.

Secondly, I wasn't making an excuse, I was explaining why it is happening. I sin because I am a sinner. I'm not excusing my sin, I'm explaining the root problem. Paul did much the same when he said, "it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me." Paul is not excusing his sins, he is saying, "here's why I, a person who loves God and hates sin, still sins on occasion." Why is the world going down this path? Because it is following the leadership of the devil.

I'm quoting scripture which says that the world is in its condition because of sin. And man's sinful desires leads men into sin.
Interesting to note the devil isn't mentioned here. We are subject to the devils way of doing things because we are subject to our own sin.

And why are we subject to sin? Because Adam sinned. Why did Adam sin? Because Eve offered him the fruit. Why did Eve offer him the fruit? Because she had eaten of it. Why did she eat of it? Aha, it is becaue the devil tempted her.

It's not about blame, it is about root causes. Man rejected God and followed the devil's leadership, and by nature has done that ever since. Right now fallen man is still following the devil's leadership, which is why we see things like this in this world. Satan is the prince of this world, the god of this world, the one leading it.

Getting used to this will, I think, strengthen the Church's ministry to these people. We've been avoiding homosexuals for so long, hurling insults, refusing to speak to them, judging from afar, as if we were going to be contaminated with homosexuality.

All the worry about gay marriage becoming legal hasn't helped one bit. It's been a complete distraction from Kingdom work. We don't need to be comfortable. We don't need to outlaw sin in all its forms.

It's about time we started loving them as Jesus would.

You notice we have to give an accounting to God for ourselves not for the devil. Nature does not opperate in a Vacuum Adam sinned because he wanted to be God. I'm not saying Satan didn't inspire this thought but certainly it was Adam that ran with it.

I'm not saying Adam wasn't to blame. I'm saying that Satan is the one who deceived Eve, and the bible plainly declares it. He is the spirit now working in the children of disobedience, and is leading the fallen world. Again, plainly declared. We shouldn't be surprised by things like this, in fact this is what we should expect.

I do because of the sin of man. However, in the context of this passage we must consider that the US established 3 branches of government to regulate each other. This is being short circuted by the judicial branch which is my problem with it apart from expecting to see it.
