Do you know something that really bothers me, something that drives me absolutely nuts, when the lost and saved use the same passage of scriptures to intimidate others from speaking the truth about God's word.

When you ask a believer in Christ, "Why didn't you tell them what God says concerning the things they do?" You hear, "I don't judge". Or when you tell a co-worker, I am not to fond of the life style that a certain person has chosen you hear, "Whoa, Judge not lest ye be judged man, I thought you were a Christian".

Sorry, but when did setting people straight concerning the things of God, rebuking someone, and warning someone of the path have chosen or the example they lead become judging.

I thought we were called to judge those by their fruits and by their righteousness.

We are to judge, SGW, but to judge according to God's Holy Word.

If it doesn't line up with God's Holy Word and you show them Scripture to show that they are wrong, then it is not you judging, but the Word.

    It's all about attitude...
If you think you are better than them because you don't do the sin... It is wrongful judging...

If you love them enough to show them that the sin they are committing is dangerous... it is judging rightfully...

Why do you feel the need to tell others they are wrong? If it is to feed your ego, it is wrong. If it is to help them, it is right...

    All about your heart...
Remove the log from your eyes so you can see to get the sawdust out of your brothers... (my paraphrase)

    We are.

If anyone were to use a concordance they would quickly find that out. However we are not to judge with evil motives.

The problem is that so many listen to the world and TV preachers instead of studying.

2 Tim. 3:16, 17, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again (Matthew 7:1&2)

This is one of my favorite passages. It humbles me when I loose patience with others.

1 Cor. 5:9-13,"I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves."

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
    Jn 7:24

People will answer to their own master, not me. HE judges the heart, the motive, etc.

But using the Word of God I can judge and discern. Do it all the time.

    Judging

The key is to remember that yes, we are called to judge others. Both in the church and outside the church. But too many times we forget that however we judge others is the exact way that God will judge us.

If we are a nit-pickn' jerk over every tiny legalistic detail and show no mercy or grace, then that is exactly the way that God will judge us. If we show an aboundance of mercy and grace and love in our judgments, then that is the way God will judge us. We are called to be encouraging judges and not overbearing jerks.
