On Monday Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) signed Senate Bill 199, thereby legalizing concealed carry on college and university campuses where school trustees vote to allow it. Source

What do you think about this? If you have a son or daughter who is a college student, would you feel safer if they were concealed carrying a handgun on campus? Will this lead to fewer people being injured/killed if there are attacks? Less likely muggings or rapes? I think it could if the gun owners are responsible.

21 is still the minimum age, there is a training requirement, and cost for the license. So it's not like every college student will be rushing out to get a ccw permit.

When my kids turn 21, I'll pay for their class and first permit.

I would personslly feel much more at ease for my kids to have a gun than not, based on todays environment; assuming they have been trained and have the guts to use it IF it ever became necessary.
    Otherwise, no!

Liberals do conservative things every once in a while.

Legal, not mandated. I do not think that much will change.

BUT, it will give rise to a lone wolf's consideration of "is this group armed or not??" !!

Not to disagree with your point, but I do not see many (if any) school boards allowing it. Any potential attacker should find it relatively easy to find out if their targeted school is gun-free or not.
