I knew this would get your attention!

I posted an urgent need for a missionary in South Africa to get Gospel literature to him for distribution.

I see more are concerned with attempting to convince the other about their "favorite" version.

Just to make sure I stay on topic, it's a crying shame so many do this. I, for one, am as settled on the King James as much as the LORD is: Psalm 12:6,7. I'll stand for it and on it decidedly from now on.

But what really bothers me, is that if it weren't for a missions minded individual, or group of individuals, none of us would even be saved. So why isn't the "Missions/Witnessing/Evangelism" section more active? It's been two days and only one response, by a KJB advocate I might add!

Is that a rebuke to the MV crowd? I dunno. Decide that by your response to the above mentioned section!

(If we had a "graemlin" with a grin and a stinger protruding from it's backside, it would probably get some use, and be scriptural; when God's people needed a "little' prompting, He sent hornets their way!)

Glad to know you are not KJVO, because the Lord certainly isn't. He not only inspired a different version, he endorsed the use of other versions.

As for what that might have to do with a missionary in South African having literature to distribute, I have no idea.

I saw it, but chose not to reply. Just because you don't see a response doesn't mean people didn't check it out. Personally, it looks like I disagree with this part of his doctrine:

    1. By the “Holy Bible” we mean that collection of sixty six books from Genesis to The Revelation, divinely preserved in the English language and commonly known as the authorized, King James Version of 1611 A.D.

I just have a hard time supporting missionaries with whom I disagree theologically. I've got others I support, though.

Speaking of Missionaries, do you believe that foreign language Bibles should be translated from the KJV, or from where the KJV itself came from, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek?

Scottemerson, by your statement above then you have become a stone of stumbling for many who could have been won beyond your prejudice.

I didn't ask you to support Brother Shiflett, he doesn't need your support. I asked for help meeting the "urgent need" to get Gospel literature to South Africa.

    How sad [IMG]

You're detracting from the thread. Please don't be as others and ignore the need. Unless of course you are only interested in you and yours.

I don't have a website to point you to, but do a search and get a view of the "DAILY" multiple grave sites for those in S.Africa w/not even a hint of their names dying of aids, WITHOUT THE GOSPEL! [IMG]

</font>[/QUOTE]You won't find that in the King James, I'm sorry to have given the wrong impression. I am trying to get yall to lay aside your malice to get the Gospel to meet such a dire need, not support a missionary. [IMG]

Can you lay it aside to see that others hear the Gospel?

    quickening spirit

You are mean, pious, and self righteous.

Many of the board members here support many missionaries and getting the word out to other nations, including myself, and I am NOT KJV only.

I myself have been on a mission trip where we got the gospel out with no bible at all actually, only ourselves, translators and a church to do follow up.. are they not saved because we had no KJV?

First of all By typing Psalm 12:6,7 does not mean the Lord is KJVO. What blasphemy! That passage is not even talking about preservation of scripture but preservation of men! You're guilty of Rev. 22:19.

Second I do support missions and do place bibles around the world by my giving to our denomination's (ABC-USA) board and publishing house. The ABC-USA has placed millions of Bibles (translated in the native tongue) in South Africa. How dare you come down on me just because I choose to not support a need that is being reported by some one that is following the sect of KJVO.
I'm not calling into question Mr Shiflett's calling, but we as American Baptists support American Baptist missionaries. And there are a lot in South Africa.

BTW what does your church do to "un-submissive" women? As your Church's website says you are against them. Sounds legalistic to me. I would never personally support someone that holds to your churches legalistic beliefs.

Okay. This thread stops here. The spirit of the thread started out bad and has degenerated.

Let's allow the Holy Spirit to lead in our action of whom/what we support and let's let the Spirit ALSO have a little control on our attitutde.
