Some think that American Indians once came from Asia to America via a land bridge.
Some also think that those who crossed also actually lived on the "Bridge" for a time

First Americans Lived on Bering Land Bridge for Thousands of Years

I read somewhere awhile back that many Indians thruout the Americas are genetically related to Mongolians, with the northern peoples being more-closely so, & southern ones in South America being more diverse.

I think there was a PBS documentary on the DNA, but I don’t remember the results.
