Got a question for yuns...can ya use any parts out of a laptop in a desktop? Never been around a laptop but may be picking up two used one tomorrow. Don't know for sure if I'll get them or someone else, but just wondering in case I do. If I can't then I guess I'll learn how to tear them apart too!!! Mabey I shouda' named the thread "More Junk 3"!!

    No, not very likely...

There are no 'standard' expansion slots in a Laptop so there are no transferrable boards...

The Memory is usually SO-Dimm (Small Form Factor) and will not fit in a Desktop...

If there are add-ons that are USB based they can usually be used on a Desktop...

There are even Adpaters so that a PCMCIA (PC-Card) plug-in can be used with a Notebook...

The CPU possibly, but only if it uses a non-mobile one.

    If they work, use 'em.
