Maybe we will have a female president. Maybe we won't. Gender really matters not to me as long as I feel confident they can do the job. I don't know enough about Condi to say whether or not I could support her. I will say that I haven't been real impressed with the job she has done in Israel.

I think Condi has done as well as any American Secretary of State can in handling the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

The Israelis and the Palestinians, especially the Palestinians, aren't exactly handling the situation with aplomb and they are the ones most affected.

    1. Yep. I would say she is about average...mediocre...there is nothing really there that would make her stand out as being any better than anyone else. Sorry. That is not good enough for me.

    2. The Israelis have gone out of their way to accomodate the Palestinians and move toward peace. There is absolutely no moral equivliance between them and the Palestinians. I agree, however, that the Palestinians have done very little to move toward disarming the terrorists and achieving peace. They don't have to, after all when you have a mediocre SOS like Rice pushing for Israel to give them the moon complete with timelines, etc... and then settles for nothing but lip service from the PA. If she really understood foreign policy, she would be pushing for reciprocity complete with timelines, disarmed terrorist groups, etc...

We haven't seen that so far. Still not impressed.

I disagree with your assessment of Condi as our Secretary of State. She has done well enough for me. [IMG]

I think your standards are way too low. [IMG]

I quit listening to Laura Bush when she said those who opposed the Miers nomination are sexist. Many have said that President Bush is not very bright. Maybe the two of them met on the short bus.
