    Back to the BPA.

    I find this story incredible.

The BPA said he thought he saw a weapon and the suspect escaped. Only after the suspect was located and offered full immunity did he agree to testify.

My question. Since he was not caught at the time, how do we know he did not have aweapon? This is nuts!

We have a known drug smuggler who flees and is shot at and wounded. We have a reliable and experienced BPA who says he thought the fugitive had a weapon.

Guess who I believe is a more credible witness.

    The result of this insanity:

"This is the greatest miscarriage of justice I have ever seen," Ramirez said. "This drug smuggler has fully contributed to the destruction of two brave agents and their families and has sent a very loud message to the other Border Patrol agents: If you confront a smuggler, this is what will happen to you."

Would you want to be a BPA when you can't pursue a suspect?

Something is rotten about this whole deal.

    Carpo

You did not read my post a few posts back. Other Agents who were on the sceen testified AGAINST the agents. The agents involved did not report the incident or that they had fired their weapons. And a TEXAS jury found them guilty.

There is only one reason somebody in law enforcement would not report fireing their weapon. They did not want an investigation. The fact that they did not report firing the weapon makes the drug dealer a more creadable witness.

"Would I want to be a border agent who could not chase a subject"

All departments have policies and procedures. They have them for two reasons. Safety of the Officers and Liability. I can see safety issues with chasing suspects by foot out in the desert with back up far away. I can also see how an agent could be chasing a suspect while others cross the border at his post. Kind of a decoy type thing.

I can see why they would have this policy.

Can you imagin an Officer shooting and wounding an armed suspect. Then never making a report. Never informing their chain of command. No shooting review board.

I dont think they should have droped the attempted murder charge.

Unless you figure out that they contradicted themselves and the official reports and they changed their stories over the years.

There was a context you're omitting.

He was accused by liars of lying. (see linkie).

Anyway, your analysis of the OP was good and clear.

    Personal insults, yet again.

Then why bring him into a thread that had nothing to do with him? Falsely claiming he shot an unarmed man in the back sound faulting to me.

    People do.
