They have that right and though I am not Lutheran I applaud them.

Since when does anyone listen to a stinkin church organization dictate what bible translation they can use? Is this the RCC dictating to their flocks their papist nonsence!

You come up north & look around.....they are not reading ANY bible, they are notedly secular (and even Atheistic) & the LCMS down the block from me has not held a bible study in at least 10 years. Funny though they got the nerve to dictate the translation!

At least they took a stand on "something". That is better than taking a stand on "nothing", I suppose!

OR....then why do they feel compelled to take a stand on this......Thats the real question that I cant see being answered. Up north, all churches including theres are becoming apostate & secular & many are closing the doors. Fix that!

You have taken a stand on insubstantials yourself. It is no honor to stand on things that are false.

They have the right to do a scholarly critique. But as was admitted in their half-baked review...they did't study enough of the 2011 NIV to make a determination on the whole translation.

So you can clap away regarding the inadequacy of that report.

I will buy one to replace my older NIV Devotional Bible. I will also make sure to carry it into the next LCMS church I fellowship with. They probably wont care as they are fixated on Luther's Small Catechism.:tongue3:
