Ephesians 4 verse 28 says Let him that stole steal

    Right?

    So what's the problem?

Put the punctuation at the right place and read some more. A friendly suggestion.

First message I ever preached was that very passage. Boy was I nervous.

And that is what it sounded like.

"Let him that stole, steal. No more let him work with the hands."

Pastor corrected me after the service. As was his duty.

The first time I preached I flooded the pulpit, but not something like what you did.

    Man, that's really funny.

Yep, just a little reminder to always read a little more of what people post for references. There have been several times that I have come across verses that I grew up hearing that had a different meaning when I read a little more context.

Preached that message on Hiles Mountain on 522 in Berkley Springs, WV in 1982.

And yes, they did allow me to come back and preach many times after that.

well, I had been born by that time but I was only 2, or perhaps still one depending on the time of the year as my birthday is in July.

It was in August. You would have been two.

Don't recollect seeing any that age in the congregation. Although there were some expectant mothers there.

Do you really notice the congregation during your first sermon?
