    Fair enough.

As long as we are careful, and do not let the Calvin-Arminius discussion derail this conversation.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

Isn't that ironic . . . the two religious groups that had amongst the fewest people working there sure did get a lot of publicity . . .

I actually tried to learn about religious affiliations for my blog of one of the victims - there was very little actually posted. I think that is more a sign of the times than anything else.

Fair enough. I think full disclosure is certainly enough.

So do tell, how many were claimed and how many were there? And how did you find out?

So you believe that someone who believes that Christians and Muslims worship the same god and that Muslims have a different path to heaven expresses a Christian perspective? Sounds more like Universalism to me.

Wow: you did two things here: you told something that was blatantly not true (you even reproduced my question, so that really made you look foolish). Secondly you are bearing false witness. I did not "make a half hearted attempt to attack [your] credibility" as I asked you a question. You seem to be having difficulty with this point, so take a look at the statement that you reproduced in your reply.

You really should pause, take a deep breath, and think before you post a reply. It really looks foolish to make such claims, especially given the fact that you reproduced the question I asked, claimed that I didn't ask a question, accused me of attacking your credibility, and then made a half-hearted attempt to answer the question with a response that is nonsensical. After your bogus claims, this is what you offered:

That doesn't answer the question that I supposedly didn't ask, despite the fact that you reproduced it in your reply.

Undoubtedly, you don't know when to quit, so I can only imagine what response I will receive. I would suggest that, if you are concerned with your credibility, you might make an effort to answer the question you reproduced, rather than claim that I didn't ask a question.

And no: the question was NOT rhetorical.

    Again, I'm embarrassed for you.

Some Christians believe they have to be baptized to be saved. Being mistaken does not necessarily mean they are not saved.

I do not remember how many were claimed, but I thought that you were one of the sources for that number . . . so, I think you can answer that one.

    How did I find out?

A couple of hours on the internet . . . and a decent guess about the religious affiliations of the victims.

I had posted some numbers a couple of years ago, but I couldn't find that post. If you did, could you direct me to it? As I recall, the numbers were fairly substantial - what do you consider "not many"?

Oh, guessing....and you guessed a number that just happened to confirm your presupposition.

    Daisy,

You guessed . . . maybe you heard that number on a friday, and then you guessed.

I actually did a really good attempt at research (albeit on the internet) . . . Strangely enough there were not a lot of people burried as muslims after September 11th . . . and no outcry for not burrying muslims as muslims . . . Personally, I came to believe that the number of muslims were between 3 and 12.

Really you posted actual numbers of muslims that died in the WTC . . . Intriguing.

I woulda thought that it was more like Bin Laden killed a bunch of muslims when he blew up New York.

BookTV, Cspan . . . really great sources of information.

You do realize that there are native Moslems, Hindus, Buddhists, animists, Wiccans, etc here in America who have as much right to worship in their fashion as we do in ours.

Native muslims, native hindus, native buddhists, native anamists, native wiccans . . . that sounds like India a country torn by religious wars ever since the muslims invaded . . . ironically, they didn't get any further than did Alex.

Native Americans . . . I have heard of them.

As for being policemen of the world that make certain that muslims get to practice islam, I think that muslims should do that. Let them take out the Bin Ladens of the world. Let them take all of the casualties that their brothers are producing.

But, no, I did not defend my country so that someone would be given the 'right to worship satan'. I realize that is the manner in which some want to interpret the Constitution. And unfortunately, evil leaders will continue to lead this country away from the founding principles. But, most soldiers do not think about defending the USA so that more muslims can worship in peace . . . ironically, muslims are safer from muslim hate here than just about anywhere in the world. Because to protect this country, we have to protect against the muslim hatred that is spreading around the world.

It is ironic that muslims kill all over the world . . . they travel in marauding gangs killing anyone that would worship the True God . . . I realize that most of the muslims that have come here are much more peaceful than those marauding murderous gangs, but it still does not make me more comfortable knowing that they worship the same god.

People of different faiths live in America and occasionally give birth here. Native - Etymology: Middle English natif, from Middle French, from Latin nativus, from natus, past participle of nasci to be born -- more at Nation (linkie)

How do you interpret the First Amendment, specifically the religion clause?

What? Surely most soldiers realize that there are more religions than Christianity in America?

South America, Japan, Scandanavia, South Africa, Rwanda?

Would you be more comfortable excluding new immigrants based on their religion and/or exiling current citizens for theirs?

Native American means only one thing.

The First Ammendment was written by Christians to protect Christians from the Imperial Church of England (State Church).

Most soldiers? You should serve your coutnry and then talk about what they (we) do (did).

Around the world is around the world. That you could find 2 countries that have little problem with muslims is interesting. That is not true of the other areas - reporters in Somalia or Rwanda that report the truth are charged with spying . . . Hutu muslims generated a lot of fear as they killed off Tutsis.

Definitely! Get rid of the muslims! Let them bring peace to the areas of the world that they have caused religious terrorism in . . . Quit bringing in trouble makers and the sympathizers of trouble makers.

Let them bring peace to the areas of the world that they have thrown into turmoil. They have done this for centuries. I am not for giving up on the poor around the world that they enslave . . . but, I am for not letting them take over the USA.

Perhaps to a person of limited thinking. That wasn't the term I used, anyway, but your reconstruction of what I did say (twisty, twisty).

Were all the writers Christian? The writers of the First Amendment were literate, eloquent men who, if they meant "Christianity only" would be protected, were fully capable of writing "Christianity only" instead of the broader "religion". They also specifically prohibited religious tests for office holders.

I didn't talk about what they( you) do (did), so you (they) needn't tell me (me) not to. Unless you are maintaining the soldiers are more dimwitted than average cititzens they (you) must realize that there are Americans who are of religions other than Christianity. I think you owe your fellow veterans (soldiers) an apology.

    Problems counting?

    Somalia!? Problems reading?

85% of Rwandans are Hutu and 15% are Tutsi; 56% are Roman Catholic, 26% are Protestant, just over 11% are Adventists and a mere 4.4% are Muslim (linkie). Are you saying that the entire 4.4% which are Muslim are 100% Hutu and that this 4.4% did all the slaughtering?

You would strip people of their citizenship and exile them from the land where they were born because of their religion! So much for liberty and justice for all. You sound un-American to me; anti-American even.
