Still get the emails from SBC church I used to attend. Today the "deacons and their wives will be distributing communion elements.".
    Women distributing communion?
Never heard of this in a fundamental church.

Maybe I don't want to come a long way. That is a case of women performing duties of deacons and elders.

I tend to agree with what Christ Jesus in Gal 3:28 "...there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus". I think to much is made of this no women in this or that position since. That, to me, seems to be more of a tradition thing than a biblical thing.

Phoebe was a deacon. There is no regulative principle to not have women serving communion.

Where does Scripture say that it must be distributed by deacons.
Our church is very small and we have no deacons.
First, there is no one qualified to be a deacon

Bruce Ware is currently on the Council of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, and a former president of the outfit. Here is an article penned his wife Jodi:

On Leadership ❧ 9 Marks of a Healthy Church

"In our church [Clifton Baptist, Louisville, Ky., SBC], women participate in public reading of the Word, in prayer, in serving the Lord’s Supper"

Prominent Southern Baptist church Capitol Hill Baptist in Washington D.C. has been "Always doctrinally conservative", according to its website.

From an 1894 newspaper article describing the flourishing church:

"If any of the ladies will take charge of any branch of the work the male members are willing to turn it over to them".

Then you disagree with Paul's plain commandments to The Church. Neither male nor female applies to salvation alone. Context is very important.

Then you shouldn't need help distributing to a small group.

Phoebe was a low Deacon. Not an administrative Deacon.

LOL, you are making a distinction that the Bible doesn't make.
Paul so trusted and loved Phoebe that he entrusted her to deliver his letter to the believers in Rome. Not to any of the men he knew...but to a trusted woman.
Low deacon rather than administrative deacon. How silly you are.

This is interesting. I never considered women serving the Supper.

My first reaction was a knee jerk reaction - "no way! That's wrong."

But upon reflection, this is not liberal or unbilical. I'd find it odd.

I would not be comfortable with a woman serving the Supper. But this may be due to tradition.

Or maybe I'm just a male chauvinist pig :(

The Bible does indeed make the distinction.
I linked many times on here the series where MacArthur proves it beyond any reasonable doubt. No one on here has ever refuted what he said. Some just conveniently forget it.
If all a Deacon did was distribute food, there would be no need for him to have near identical qualifications of a Bishop.

I can tell you the most obvious reason I am not comfortable with it. There are instances where communion elements are to be denied to the person living in unrepentant sin. If a woman is serving a man and she denies him the elements, she is then in a place of spiritual authority over a man.

My reason is the women could poison the juice and take over the church.
