I have to admit that my life verse hasn’t always remained the same verse.

My Life Verse seems to be that verse or passage that encapsulates the need of my heart at the time. It may be direction, sustaining, drama, hope, .... but that need is always met completely by reliance upon God’s Word.

    What about you?

Do you have a single life verse?

Have you also seen the need to change the verse over time?

    Me neither!... Brother Glen:Biggrin

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Notice that verse presumes that anyone who would take away the words of prophecy does have a part in the book of life and the holy city that can be taken away. That can ruffle some theological feathers, especially Baptist ones.

I guess I've never felt the need for a life verse.

What part might be taken out of the book of life?

Perhaps, that which was worthless and unacceptable being ready to be fuel for the fire as Paul indicated by what treasure to store.

Some are going to find a lot less then they bargained for by investing in what was really rather pitiful and pathetic in this life.

I don't quite know what you mean. Is it that God would kill the ones who would take away the words of prophecy before they take them away, or that "eternal security" is a false doctrine? Or, taking the latter another step, that everyone's name is originally written in the book of life, and that vast majority who are not saved all have their names erased therefrom?

God erases their name from the book of life. A metaphor for Him taking their life.

Not Baptist ones in General; but certainly fatalistic ones. You see everyone who is ever born, is in ''the book of life''.

Absolutely not. Taking one's ''part'' out of the holy city and ''the things written in this book'' is not merely ''taking their life''.

You got Scripture to back up this thinking?

    Yes sir. The verse itself,

22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    Think about it.
