Lately, certain websites have popped up a small box which says "....so-and-so site (the one I'm on) wants to store information on your computer."

It says it wants to store about 10 KB.

When I say yes, the box goes away. When I click no, nothing happens most of the time.

Anybody know what the information is that the site wants to store?

Is there way to say no?

No should be no and they shouldn't do anything. They want to store a cookie -- a little info so they can recognize you if you return, among other things.

There are settings for cookies that you might want to check in your browser if you want to change things.

If you can't find them mention your browser and someone can tell you where they are.
