At my church this August 26th, we're going to have a one-day conference of students to talk about campus evangelism, and how important it is to reach their friends for Christ.

The conference will be hosted at Skyline Baptist Church in Branson, MO, worship led by the John Sherrill Band, and teaching by John Sherrill. Anyone wanting more details can pm or email me, and if you're in the Branson/Springfield area, we'd love to have you come!

Sounds super liberal to me don't think I'll be attending even though it's in my state.

    That doesn't make it liberal....
None of the original fundamentals were broken.

Now if you are a psuedo-fundamentalist, then I see where you have a problem..

Oh, what is a peudo- fundamentalist?..

They are the ones that have trashed the original Fundamentals of the Faith, and replaced them with:

    KJVO,
    Anti-CCM
a smaller church is more pleasing to Christ.
    no pants on women
    Christians must be miserable.
    Etc.

Oh, I forgot one, probably the most important one, they believe you must have a hateful attitude and trash anything that is not pleasing to THEM... Im glad Jesus wasn't a psuedo-fundamentalist.

To be liberal means you add things to the Word of God.
Everything on the above list is added to the Bible by psuedo-fundamentalists that are following Hyles and his preacher boys more than they are following Christ.

Joshua, I would be there if I could...... you and your church are in my prayers.

Thanks Kayla. Your support of our youth, their evangelism efforts, and kingdom work in general is overwhelming. I don't remember stating that John Sherrill was leading a "worship rock band," but I guess that's a reasonable description. How that makes us "super liberal," I don't know, unless you count anything that is not ultra-super-duper-maximum strength conservatism as "super liberal." I assure you, though I know it will not help you at all, that I am not (although comparatively to you I may look that way), and neither is anyone associated with the conference. However, I'm glad you'll be staying where you live and serve to continue the work of evangelism right there in your hometown. As for my church, we're going to host this conference and give our students a chance to worship, learn and evangelize their campuses. God bless your efforts, as I know He'll bless ours.

Tim and gekko - wish you guys could come. It'll be fun, and educational as well.

    In His Grip,
    joshua

...and that, my friends, is how you respond with grace to an ungracious post.

Conference is this weekend... thanks guys for praying! I'm looking forward to the move of God among these students. What an awesome responsibility we believers have in telling our friends, family, neighbors and everyone about the answer for all life's questions: Jesus. In three sessions, students will receive evangelism techniques and applications, and then will get 3 hours to go out and bring their friends to hear the Gospel presented at a concert that evening. Wow! I can't wait to see what He will do through students willing to serve. Thanks again for your prayers!

    Man!

How much more generalized and offensive can you get!!!??? Im truly amazingly surprised at you, TinyTim. I would not have thought you would generalize like that, and make such a broad statement claiming such mean things about so many people! Lumping them all together like that!
Not everyone who disagrees with rock music and pants on women and is KJVO is also hateful and miserable and believes that you aren't allowed to be happy. What a ridiculous and outrageous generalization, and totally unfair. You're the one who sounded hateful and is trashing what you don't agree with.

and with that, Kayla, Id be careful not to assume that just because the name of the group has the word "band" in it that they must necessarily be a "rock band." Could be a really good group, doing some very nice concert music.

    I hope it went well.

It did, bapmom. We had about 48 in attendance, and everyone there had a great time in worship and in the Word. We heard from Jesus, Paul, Luke, David and even some of the prophets through John our speaker. The students went out from the conference and brought back almost 100 people for the concert that night, and seeds were planted for future cultivation. I'm about to start some follow-up on a few students that were local to my church. Thanks for the prayers!
