Long hair on men

    In another forum I asked if it was a sin for a Christian man to have long hair. The majority said it would be. However, Troy Polamalu of the steelers is a devout Christian and he had long hair. Kurt Warner's wife Brenda, has short hair and she is a devout Christian. Don't you guys think it would be the condition of ones heart?

    Well I'm a gal but I believe that no, it's not SIN. I also have shorter hair.

    Yeah, I want to grow my hair longer before I can't grow it anymore. It's already receding and thin in the back, so like I said, I want to grow some while I can. I also really believe that the condition of your heart is what counts with the Lord. Thanks for noticing buddy.

    Now, I don't know if that picture is a sinful picture or not, but it just took about 2 years off of my life!!

    The Bible does not say that long hair on a man is a sin. What it says is this:

    1 Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

    That word 'shame' is translated as such:

    atimia atimia at-ee-mee'-ah

    from 820; infamy, i.e. (subjectively) comparative indignity, (objectively) disgrace:--dishonour, reproach, shame, vile.

    So, it is not a sin for a man to have long hair, but it is a shame.

    How about when the man's hair causes him to be mistaken for a woman? Would that not be shameful?
