I am looking for a primative baptist hymnal book by Benjamin Llyod. Any information would be helpful.

I googled it and found it. I guess folks come to BB and ask questions so others can google it for them?

I don't know if this would help, but here is a link:

    Benjamin Lloyd

Unfortunately, it has been out of print for sometime, and it would be hard to find.

And as most churches have discarded the old in preference to the shallow and frothy, I fear your quest will no doubt be disappointing.

I'd guess he's looking to get a physical copy and seeing if a board of Christians might have one person who has one. I'm sure he's googled plenty.

Maybe. I did as well and found sites that offered these copies first try.

I have googled it many times and found only a copy of a book that is a biography of Benjamin Llyod, not the actual song book.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alabama-BEN...ptist-Songs-Essays-CD-PICS-1999-/151157280058

Here is one on ebay for $33.30

This is a very popular hynmal, there is even a facebook page for dedicated fans.

There is a reprint available from www.alabamafolklife.org The book is $25, but it comes with a cd for $29.95 that includes music for the songs which are printed "words only" in the original.

    From the link:

No, that's not it by the description. First off, it's by Joyce Cauthen and it says "This collection of essays," in the description, so I'd think this is not a hymnal.

I realize this is an old thread, but I thought I could give the address for original new printings of Lloyd's Primitive Hymns:

    Primitive Hymns Corporation
    Box 92
    Rocky Mount, NC 27802-0092

Warren Steel tries to keep such resources updated here:
    Tunebooks, Music Books, and Hymnals

Several of the print-on-demand printers are now making it available, but I personally would rather have the black hardback edition.
