Hi, I want to give my parents, who are not saved, a nice Bible this Christmas, and I'm looking for one that includes a good plan of salvation. I've found some good plans of salvation in inexpensive evangelism NT's, but that's not really the route I want to go. I want to give them something nice, classy, and an easy to read font; something with at least a bonded leather cover and of good quality. I also want to get them a NKJV, NIV, or similar translation that will be easy for them to read.

Based on all of these criteria, does anyone have a good recommendation? I'm amazed at how few Bibles include a plan of salvation; I've had a real tough time finding what I'm looking for...

    Thanks!

    Eric

I wanted to give an answer before one of the yaa-hoos replied with something like "All good Bibles contain the plan of salvation."

I would suggest that you contact your local Southern Baptist associational office (you can find this by calling any SBC church). Lifeway usually stocks bibles where the publishers have highlightd the plan of salvation.

The New Believer's Bible (NLT) has a good plan of salvation in the front, also contact the Billy Graham ministry group, they have some things that they use as well

Your kidding right? You don't have to call some association for a highlighted Bible, You can highlight the Bible yourself. That's what I did. I bought a really nice Bible at my local Book store for my sister. Leather with her name embossed on the front...and highlighted the scriptures myself.

If you are not sure what scriptures are the ones to use... send me a private message and I will give you my list.

You can also use a church track. Again, if your church doesn't soul-win, or you have no idea what I mean by track, p.m. me and I will give you a web-link. I could even mail you a track...but, that would require you giving me your address...and I know the nice thing about the inter-net...is anonimity.

I also have my "soul-winning Bible" in my purse...it's a New Testiment with the Psalms and Proverbs and is checkbook size...and there are cross references etc relating to the subject of salvation, It's bonded leather and mine has my name embossed on it.(It was a gift from my church). It's published by World Bible Publishers #SL7-10-50941.

I am not a Yaa Hoo! I just prefer to keep it simple.

Thanks for the advice WS, that's a good idea. I know the Romans Road verses and could highlight those. I think I'd still prefer to get them a Bible with a salvation plan in front, though, in case they never get that far into the Bible. I may use your idea of highlighting the verses in addition to that though, that sounds like a good thing to do...

You surely are not! I was referring to the type of posts that periodically are used in response to the title request of this thread.

Something along the lines of "every bible contains the plan of salvation". I do like your idea of giving away highlighted bibles (although I thought that the request was for some 'pre-highlighted' versions).

Btw, I've looked into go2church's suggestion of the New Believer's Bible and have been very impressed with it. I'll probably buy a copy of it for my parents as a Christmas gift; unless I happen across something better very soon.

    Thanks for the advice, folks...

    Eric,

If you are unable to find exactly the Bible you are looking for, I have seen bookmarks in the past that have the Roman Road printed on them. This is something that could just be placed inside the Bible as an additional gift.
