Are you using the image function?

In general you do images like you do bold or quotes or italics. Use the letters "IMG" at the start and "/IMG" at the end enclosing both in [brackets].

You need to point directly to the image with your URL. Somthing that starts with "http://" and ends with ".jpg" or other image type.

Be careful as the board has a policy that all images must be smaller than the BB logo at the top left of the page. I am not sure why this is. I am guessing to improve download speeds, especially for dialup users. It is a pain to be on dialup and to try and open a thread where someone has posted a bunch of big pictures. OTOH, I rarely see the rules enforced. But I rarely see pictures of any type.

Look at my post by clicking the "Quote" icon at the top of my post to see the format for posting that. To get the URL for the image itself I viewed the encoding for the page (View...Source) and scrolled through until I found where the code for the page points to the logo.

Try to post an image and I'll 'look' at your post and tell you what you've done wrong.

UTEOTW, not smaller but around that size unless it's a very important image. We've relaxed our rules on this a little. (Especially if it's my new kitten.)

I use my camera software to email myself a smaller picture (I can choose small, medium or full sized) and then upload that to VillagePhotos.

Right click / properties on the bb.com logo to see the size.

Another question. What do you have to do to get your pic under your username?

I think it is a free web picture hosting website. There are a number of these around. If you have a picture of say your kitten, you can upload a copy and then you can post a link to the picture. Many will let you make whole albums and then you can send a link to the album to friends and family and they can go view your pictures.

I have never used such a service so I am no help beyond that. If I even need to upload a picture, I use the few webstorage with my ISP (Bellsouth). My ISP has a special page for such. You go through a little tutorial and it builds a webpage for you.

    chipsgirl,

To get your pic under your name you have to post at least 100 posts. You then email your pic to webmaster, and he inserts it when he gets a chance. He seems to be pretty bust, though.
